Trafigura - Research Analyst - Oil Trading Desk

Main Purpose :

Responsible for supporting research activities for Trading and Supply Desk, spearheading data analytics for the firm and develop quality analysis and views on global and regional energy markets

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

- 2-4 years' experience in research and analytics; preferably in oil commodity trading company, power & energy transition domain

- Must have excellent presentation and technical analysis skills, including advanced excel modelling, statistical analysis, advanced coding and programing, experience with the following programing languages and data tools is recommended; SQL, Tableau, R, VBA & Python

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and distribute trading-relevant analysis of key crude and petroleum product markets

- Routine construction and distribution of price, trade, or fundamental indicators and market views

- Automation and analysis of large fundamental or price related data

- Calculation of key arbitrage indicators, margins and other trade information

- Construction and maintenance of fundamental balances for petroleum

- Maintenance of key research databases, including turnarounds, production, cargo tracking and other information

- Create global and regional macroeconomic reports and presentations

- Extensive ad-hoc responsibilities as necessary for the trade desk, including routine data requests, business development information, infrastructure information and other topics
