Trade Lane Manager

Job Description : The overall purpose of this job is to manage the trade lane (dedicated) to identify the products and services required, ensuring competitiveness and deliver growth on the trade lane to the company, being custodian and centre of competence of the trade lane process, and ensuring sales and operational processes happen in a way that is optimal for Toll Global Forwarding Network.

As a Trade Lane Manager, your primary duties and responsibilities will include :

- Identify and establish international freight forwarding services required for particular trade lane to grow the company's business. Actively involved in capacity purchasing management.

- Identify the rates frequency and transit time of services in order to reach parity and/or market competitiveness.

- Actively target base load customers with coordination and sales management.

- Plan and perform regular sales visits to develop business on the trade lane.

- Identify major customers to move freight on trade lane and work with Sales to gain business.

- Support sales / management with specific trade lane expertise to develop business

- Acting as the go to person and internal pipeline coordinator to support overseas sales activities.

- Continuously monitor the trade lane performance and identify the major competitors on the trade lane.

- Provide management with trade lane reports, competitor activity/wins and statistics/measures on volumes/revenues, statistics of shipments, etc. Responsible for market intelligence.

About you :

To be successful in this role, you will need :

- Bachelor's degree, with strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint presentation and Word skills.

- Understanding of international freight forwarding - FCL / LCL and Groupage.

- Knowledge of key trade lanes in relation to international logistics. Knowledge of budget process, yield / margin creation and management.

- Able to work closely with Sales and to assist them in securing new business and meeting their goals.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong focus and commitment to achieving measurable results.

- Able to forecast and budget for growth on trade lane. Able to set KPIs for business growth and retention.

- Positive outlook, results oriented, professional, honest and shows integrity.

- Must be a team player with sensitivity to cross culture diversity.

- Emphasizes close customer relations; stays in tune with customers' expectations about value and service; seeks input from internal/external customers.

- Strategic Thinking - Maintains awareness of long term outcomes in the course of daily activities; anticipates the long term impact of actions and keeps the big picture in mind to guide decision making and problem solving.
