Times Group - Brand Management - Economic Times

We are looking for smart and dynamic individuals for Brand Management role with Economic Times Brand, Mumbai.

Role: Brand Management with ET Brand (Deputy Chief Manager/ Chief Manager)

Reports to: Regional Brand Head- ET

Location: Mumbai

Educational: MBA marketing from MICA or other good institutes

Experience: Product Management/brand management experience of 7 - 10 years with good communication and excel skills. An ideal candidate would be with minimum 7 years of marketing experience across sectors, with a mix of 4-5 year experience in an advertising agency and corporate. Experience in brand management preferred, problem-solving skills, the ability to ideate, learning-oriented, questioning the status quo required.

Position Summary :

Oversee the entire publishing chain, understand consumer segments, launch new initiatives, gather insights, correct anomalies and develop strategies for corrective measures with the objective of increasing brand salience, reach, advertising revenues, and circulation.

Job Size :

- Editions - Multiple City Special editions, Brand Equity, CD and other properties

- Advertising + Event + Social Media agency management

Job Responsibilities:

1) Brand Management: Understand various consumer segments, evaluate the product fit, analyze competitors/readership, develop and execute projects that fulfill reader communities in order to increase the brand salience

- Advertising Campaign - Draft creative brief for the advt. the agency, evaluate creatively shared, gather feedback from internal stakeholders, liaise with the agency, execute campaign basis a media plan

- Consumer/Reader Engagement - Involves a plethora of activities such as organizing panel discussions, awards ceremony, on-ground activities, national programmes such as ET Young Leaders etc. Coordinate with event agency, print vendors, social media agency etc.

- Competition Analysis - Keep track of business newspapers in terms of content and activity. Monthly + Quarterly analysis and reporting involved

- Reader/Consumer Research - Carry out research via agencies (Nielsen, IMRB etc.) as well as independently to understand consumer trends and behavior

- Edition Management - Work with regional teams to build readership and engagement for city editions. For example a local event, the panel discussion in Delhi, Pune etc.

2) Financial Management: Interpret numbers, gather insights, correct anomalies and develop strategies for corrective measures in order to ensure healthy profitability for each of my editions

- Analyze P&L, Revenue, and Circulation on a monthly basis. Share findings with internal stakeholders. Identify areas to reduce costs, increase revenues.

- Liaise with other departments and work towards achieving cost and revenue objectives

3) Operations Management: Closely work with and oversee the entire publishing chain, coordinate with constituent departments (Response Operations, Editorial, Production, RMD, Systems) to ease the working process, improve accountability and processes in order to ensure smooth functioning of brand ET.

- Work closely with depts. such as production, distribution, sales to either improve a process or fix a problem.

- Work towards gaining an in-depth understanding of the company's key functions

- This aspect involves a fair deal of coordination and follow-up with various departments.

4) Sponsorship Initiatives :

- Understand client/advertiser objectives and create sponsorship opportunities

- Create sponsorship proposals for existing ET programmes to drive revenues

- Liaise with sales team on a regular basis

5) Team Management: Motivate reporting team to achieve their goals, support other members of the brand team and build relationships with other functional stakeholders in order to ensure smooth implementation of the ET marketing strategy
