The Company:  The Red Pen is an independent education consulting company, advising applicants who seek to study abroad at the day/boarding school, undergraduate, MBA or master's levels. We help applicants develop a strategy, prepare application components and navigate the complex admissions process to institutions worldwide. We also assist high schools in developing student-focused, scalable university counselling infrastructure that addresses the unique needs of their academic community.  We currently have approximately 30 team members in Mumbai and 20 others in locations around the world. Our team is comprised of 90% women; most team members have lived, worked and/or studied outside India. Our office is strategically located at Nirlon House in Worli (Mumbai).  The Role :  We are seeking a Manager, MBA Consulting, with high energy, a positive attitude and a passion for mentoring young people as they make higher education and career choices. Our Manager, MBA Consulting will manage the MBA Consulting Service Line for The Red Pen, and occasionally work one-on-one with applicants to develop the most compelling application to global MBA programs.  Primary responsibilities include the following:  1. Supervise and coordinate the MBA Consultants and Content Specialists in the MBA Service Line. Lead sales and screening of all MBA inquiries; Manage the CRM system for the service line  2. Conceptualize, develop, and execute operational strategies to streamline processes for the service line. As a Lead Consultant, provide end-to-end support to MBA applicants on all aspects of the application to business school  3. Assist the market team with social media marketing including strategic planning and execution; assist the internal operations team with data analysis  4. Maintain relations with admissions officers and current students and alumni of global business schools  5. The Manager, MBA Consulting, will oversee a team of MBA Consultants and Content Specialists, and will also consult clients directly.   Responsibilities of a Lead Consultant include:  6. All relevant and reasonable activity required to assist an applicant as they prepare for the global MBA application process  7. Motivating an applicant through a demanding, prolonged application process  8. Understanding an applicant's background and then counseling them on career/education goals  9. Conducting online research and suggesting programs/universities relevant to the applicant's strengths and goals  10. Creating and maintaining material development timelines  11. Engaging the applicant in a meaningful and realistic goal development exercise  12. Brainstorming story/content for essays, interviews and other application components  13. Overseeing resume edits (via the resume specialist)  14. Coordinating essay drafts including assessing relevance of content, expression and grammar. Must be comfortable providing verbal and written feedback and inline suggestions  15. Reviewing an applicant's recommendation letter strategy  16. Reviewing all written application materials, including but not limited to essays, application forms, and resumes to ensure consistency and proof reading to ensure effective presentation  17. Conducting basic interview preparation  The Requirements:  1. Strong preference for an MBA from a global (non-Indian) program, with an exception for the Indian School of Business. Will consider Masters- degrees from global (non-Indian) program.  2. At least three years of post-MBA work experience, including one year of managing people, preferably in a location outside India  3. A team player, who can thrive in a fast-paced, high growth start-up environment  4. Outstanding organizational abilities with a meticulous focus on detail  5. A responsive and engaged work-style, including the ability to respond to client communications within 24 hours  6. Maturity, polish and professionalism; the ability to listen and counsel  7. A desire to research and learn about different global MBA programs, along with an understanding of post-MBA career options and tracks  8. Must be comfortable with cloud-based software and other technology tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint  Salary Offered : 8-12 LPA
