Tester Chapter Lead

The role:

The Tester Chapter Lead role is for an experienced Lead Engineer in Test and needs strong people and technical leadership. The role expects incumbent to:

- Develop and encourage the proliferation of data-driven, modern, and repeatable testing practices where applicable (testing DSLs, TDD, stubbing/mocking, tooling, automation, patterns, etc.)

- Develop effective test strategy and lead evaluation, proof of concept and adoption of latest automation tools as per need

- Facilitate a model for testing governance within the tribe and squads to facilitate a sense of test ownership throughout the engineering teams

- Be a champion for a strong testing and software quality culture and manage/resolve blockers

- Work closely with engineers to deliver shared, automated solutions to testing applications with the understanding that testing is everywhere and performed by everyone

- Understand the needs of the engineering & test team and be a strong voice for them

- Understand the needs of the customer and work with Product Owners, Engineer chapter leads and other stakeholders to ensure delivery confidence and platform trust is to a very high standard

- Create shared clarity bring people on the journey, creating a shared understanding of context, purpose, goals and progress. Even if its ambiguous, create focus and enough certainty to deliver and succeed.

- Foster strong and collaborative relationships with other teams across the bank

- Ensure the engineers are supported and provided opportunities to learn and grow. Inspire, mentor, coach and develop others

- Lead high performing diverse and multi-location teams, including leading through change
