As a Technical Product Owner, you will lead the development and delivery of the strategy and roadmap for technical capability teams. IoT Shared Capability is a centrepiece of our IoT platform and growth strategies. Telstra is developing a streamlined scalable cost-efficient platform strategy that will enable rapid product and solution development for faster time to value You will have deep technical experience with these technologies and experience developing profitable business applications operating successfully at large scale. Key Responsibilities : - Act as the technical product owner within the Group for a specific critical technical capability, or act as key leader to a team of Technical Product Owners and teams, partnering with Engineering, stakeholders, and product owners across Telstra to influence and shape the strategic vision to set direction for modular, reusable technical capabilities and components. - Assess complex problems, generate insights and solutions using a wide lens to effectively remove impediments to the lifecycle of a capability that can't be resolved at a team level. - Actively leverage your deep and broad knowledge and expertise to develop a deep understanding of other Groups' and Technical Product Owners' vision, objectives and backlogs - Take accountability for the end-to-end roadmap of technical capabilities or portfolio of capabilities and backlog alignment within the Group and across the full portfolio of Missions. - Actively manage the end-to-end development, lifecycle management and optimisation of technology products and services. - Take accountability for the team's budgets, security, resilience, compliance, performance, unit cost optimisation, risks and capacity in your capability or domain, both now and over multi-year horizons. - Partner with engineering in the deployment and execution of operational and business acceptance activity, including leading the management of post-deployment issues from root cause analysis through to resolution. - Take accountability for capacity planning and definition of possible enhancements for infrastructure platforms to meet performance and operational requirements both now and long-term time horizons. - Foster a culture of collective ownership and accountability for the work completed by empowering and coaching the team to implement effective fit for purpose development and operational practices. To be successful in the role, you must have : - Bachelor's Degree level in IT or Engineering - Minimum 8-12 of related experience - Proficient in Agile/Scrum practices - Experience on the IoT tech stack especially leading platform / backend development teams - Proficient in cloud; either Azure or AWS event-driven architecture, with a good working knowledge of the other (multi-cloud awareness), with a good understanding of open source alternatives to Azure or AWS PaaS products - Experience leading DevOps or DevSecOps teams with highly-automated CI/CD and IaC - Experience of working in a large program with multiple inter-dependent Teams - Experience of large-scale system integration in complex environments - Experience in stakeholder & vendor management, financial management, and contract management - Experience in ITIL/IT delivery management, ITIL operations/application management and Incident, Problem/Change Management - Proficient in Jira or Azure DevOps - Extensive project management experience: Scrum and SAFe qualifications is good to have - Skilled in Product Lifecycle Management, System architecture, and Technology investment/strategy - Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), documentation and presentation skills. - Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills with ability to view problems and potential issues from all perspectives - Ability to work under pressure and manage differences in opinions or solution approaches between business and technology stakeholders
