Technical Sourcing Expert - Fabrics Responsibilities: - The selected candidate will be part of a global team that focusses on sourcing and development of technical raw materials and provides expertise on technical and performance parameters and sourcing/supplier development capabilities. Reporting to the Procurement Director for Technical RM, the selected candidate will be responsible for: - Provide Subject Matter Expertise to Business Units with best available fabric sourcing options - Understand and provide expert advice on cost/quality/delivery differentials of the key sources - Support and provide inputs to R&D for new materials to ensure that fabrics are in accordance with clients' aesthetic and performance criteria - Drive cost reduction initiatives with suppliers and through internal process innovations. - Implement strategies for Supplier Development through close collaboration and engagement. - Lead Vendor Approval and On-boarding Process for new vendors. - Establish and maintain close relationships with raw material suppliers - Attend key meetings with clients, as required, to drive raw material strategies - Partner with cross functional teams to support on-time delivery of highest quality goods - Influence sourcing strategies to optimize spend leveraging on Price, Lead time, Quality Technical and Specification levers. Requirements - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Textile Technology from a reputed university. - A post graduate qualification in management or supply chain would be advantageous. - At least 10 years of experience in managing Woven and Knit Fabrics, Synthetic and Natural fibres, Wet and Dry Processing, and Dyeing and Printing. - Experience in Material Innovation and Research - Risk assessment in Raw Material sourcing - Expertise in Fabric Technology, Raw Material Quality Assurance, Lab Dip/Strike off/ Bulk Approvals, and Colour and Colour Approval processes - Strong understanding on MOQ/MCQ relevant to material types, Lead times Projections and Allocations, Supplier Evaluations, Pricing and Price structures and Relationship Matrices - Thorough knowledge of strategic sourcing and supply chain structures; regional capabilities in relation to Material Sources; Material Development including Yarn, Chemicals etc; Aesthetics; and Performance Parameters - Experience in dealing with major customers in Europe/USA - Strong commercial decision-making skills - Strong relationships with major players in the Fabric and Raw Material Industry - Very strong negotiating and influencing skills - Good communication and presentation skills - Ability to work both in teams and as an individual contributor/subject matter expert - Ability to travel, as required.
