The Role
The Infra Team Lead, Scout is responsible for planning and executing deployments of Scout, a proprietary automation discovery platform. The Infra Team Lead reports to the Scout Portfolio Lead.
- Owning the implementation activities for Scout roll-out:
- Design on-premise or cloud-based solution for Scout roll-out
- Design enterprise-wide deployment strategies
- Seek necessary approvals from client's Information Security groups
- Work with the client's IT team to:
- Conduct various types of product tests to comply with the client's security policies
- Monitor product performance, and develop and report on metrics to monitor scalability
- Raise incidents impacting the product, conduct root-cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution
- Contribute towards product improvement to improve end-user experience
- Building strong relationships to facilitate a smooth Scout implementation:
- Collaborate with the client's relevant IT stakeholders to understand the approvals and systems to make Scout functional
- Effectively communicate updates and project expectations to all stakeholders, avoiding or resolving escalations along the way
- Work with internal team of product engineers and analysts to ensure on-time completion of the project
- Providing feedback on the implementation model and approach, and looking for upsell opportunities:
- Collect detailed feedback after every engagement and make suggestions for how the client communication, IT support, or overall product could improve
- Advise on other opportunities for Scout within a client
The Candidate:
- 5 - 7 years of application installation, configuration, and deployment experience
- Experience in programming on one or more languages; the most desirable include UNIX Shell Scripting, Power Shell, and/ or Java
- Experience in infrastructure design and sizing (on-prem vs cloud-based hosting), OS administration, software packaging is a plus
- Working with stakeholders directly to design and drive the implementation plan; experience in the automation systems a plus
- High degree of professionalism, maturity, and ability to think on one's toes
- Pro-active, can-do attitude in front of your customer and internal team
- Outstanding ability to communicate clearly and effectively with executive-level sponsors as well as technical practitioners
- BS/BA degree (or equivalent); qualifications in information systems, computer science or related field preferred
