Team Lead - Finance Controller - Reinsurance

We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller who will be responsible for completing duties across all bases of Accounting US GAAP, Canadian Statutory/IFRS, other statutory bases (Luxembourg and Swiss Stat) for Intra-Group Retrocession reporting, and Economic Value Management (organization's proprietary integrated economic valuation framework). You will assume responsibility, together with the local Accountants in Canada, for the end-to-end Accounting & Reporting process of the Canadian carrier. Your duties will be performed in compliance with local / Group requirements and the internal control framework.

The role is part of the Americas Carrier Reporting team which is responsible to deliver accurate and timely financials; manage statutory capital requirements for the legal entity/Branch; understand and analyze the key business drivers. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for carrier accounting and reporting in support of the Canadian L&H reinsurance carrier Canadian L&H Branch.

Eligibility Criteria:

- Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting or Finance

- CA/CPA/ACCA/Actuarial education is plus

- 9 - 13 years relevant work experience in an accounting or financial analysis

- 3+ year(s) experience of people management

- Knowledge of Financial Services is a must, with a strong preference to insurance accounting experience

- Prefer candidate that possesses experience in working with North American company and are familiar with North American business practices and culture

- Expert knowledge regarding US GAAP and/or IFRS and operations experience

- Proficiency in MS office application (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
