PROJECT MANAGEMENT UNIT, UTTAR PRADESH (Bahraich)

Background :

- Government of India has initiated a Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) programme with an objective to provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to 100% rural households across the country.


- The Integrated Safe Drinking Water programme in Uttar Pradesh under Jal Jeevan Mission seeks to use the power of the community in the water supply planning and management process, with a key focus on drinking water supply, water quality monitoring & surveillance, source sustainability, rainwater harvesting and treatment & reuse of wastewater.


- The Tata Trusts has collaborated with State Water and Sanitation Mission (SWSM, Govt of Uttar Pradesh) to provide support implementation of the programme in Bahraich and Shravasti districts.


- The project aims at institutional building in form of Gram Panchayat Water and Sanitation Committees (GPWSC) and setting up of sustainable community-managed drinking water supply systems through multi-pronged approach.


- In this regard, Tata Trusts UPPMU inviting applications for the post of Program Associate - Monitoring & Evaluation (WASH).

Education Qualification & Experience :

- Graduate or postgraduate in statistics, economics/ rural management/ computer science, or any related field.

- Having a minimum of 3 years of experience in an M&E position at the district level.

- Be willing to undertake extensive traveling to remote areas across the district

- Candidates having advanced knowledge of MS OFFICE and statistical tools, mobile applications, web-based applications, etc..

- Language proficiency in English and Hindi is a must.

- The job requires skills good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people, including government officials. Ideally, s/he should be growth-oriented and hardworking, have a mature outlook, with a visible interest in, and commitment to, the development sector.

Key Job Responsibilities :

1. To develop comprehensive monitoring mechanism and Management Information System (MIS) to track the impact indicators for different thematic areas/ projects being implemented.

2. Evaluate the existing input formats (for data collection) and improvise them as per the requirement of the projects.

3. Strengthen the reporting structure of the organization by generating need based reports for the organization, donor, government, etc.

4. Undertake quality assessment of data/information and develop validation mechanism

5. Ensure compliance of the established monitoring structure at the implementation level while maintaining the periodicity and timeliness in the reporting.

6. Use of secondary data/ information related to WaSH & health interventions and design analytics system using available data.

7. Support the implementation team in data analysis and enable them to take appropriate actions to enhance implementation processes

8. Facilitate third party evaluation studies (baseline, midline and impact assessment) on need basis.

9. Develop document repository mechanism to develop institutional memory and use the information for Decision Support System.

10. Collet/ validate data on regular intervals and undertake necessary assessment to help project implementation team for better decision-making system.

11. Providing Training to the field coordinators on data collection and tabulation of the data.
