District lead (Prerak) - Swasth Bharat Prerak programme

A joint initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Tata Trusts

Recruiting organisation: The India Nutrition Initiative (TINI) at the Tata Trusts

Remuneration: Rs. 6, 60, 000 per annum (excluding medical & accidental insurance)

Duration of appointment: 1 year (extendable subject to performance)

Location: Priority districts under National Nutrition Mission

- Tata Trusts has created - The India Nutrition Initiative- with a panel of leading experts, in order to develop and advocate an informed stand on policy relating to nutrition. In addition, The India Nutrition Initiative designs, implements, and monitors strategic interventions, in partnership with Governments and other leading organizations, relating to improving nutrition status in India.

- To address the challenge of stunting, Tata Trusts are taking an intense multi-sectoral approach looking at maternal care, water and sanitation, behavioural change communication and poverty alleviation in an integrated way. To address the challenge of micronutrient deficiencies, Tata Trusts are looking at fortification of staple food vehicles such as flour, salt, oil, and milk.

- To strengthen the capacity of districts by providing them technical and management support as they work towards achieving superior Nutrition, the Swasth Bharat Preraks initiative has been launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Tata Trusts.

- The Swasth Bharat Preraks, highly qualified young professionals, will provide inputs of strategy, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the National Nutrition Mission in the Districts. Apart from providing management and coordination support, these Preraks will ensure monitoring and implementation support.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH -

- The Prerakwill join the office of District Magistrate to work in teams on leading and driving the National Nutrition Mission in the District. In this role you will provide management support to the district administration foreffective implementation of National Nutrition Mission.You will also work with many experts, from consultants and researchers to software and behaviour changecampaign designers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO -

You'll work in teams at the District level, playing an active role in all aspects of Government engagement to improve the nutrition status of the district.

- This includes gathering and analyzinginformation, formulating and testing hypotheses and strategies, and developing, implementing, and communicating projects. You will manage the implementation of the Swasth Bharat Prerak programme, and provide co-ordination with State and Central government Ministry. You'll also have the opportunity to present results to senior bureaucrats and implement recommendations in collaboration with District and Block level officials.

- You will receive excellent training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from Tata Trusts colleagues and Central Government officials.

QUALIFICATIONS -

1. A graduate/post graduate degree and excellent academic record (e.g., MBA, M.Tech, MSW, Masters in Development Studies, B.Tech, BBA etc.)

2. A work experience of a minimum of 2 years, in any sector. Fresh graduates from premier management and engineering institutes with zeal to be a part of the nation-building movement may also apply

3. Possess demonstrated capabilities of leadership and institutional development experience

4. Comfortable with significant Government interaction

5. Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in the State, Districts, Villages

6. Strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting

7. Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

9. Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English and the local office language(s)

10. Willingness to travel
