Brief Job Description :

1. To conceptualize, socialize and work with the technology team to set up appropriate tools for Data Management (Data Mart), Data Pipelines ( through Field Data Collection System), Data Tracking, and Data Privacy

2. To work with the dedicated field team of AI&I analysts (acting as internal analytics consultants) led by the Team Lead (Connects and Insights) in conceptualizing and structuring data-driven projects across different interventions/themes.

3. a) To create statistical and data science models, algorithms and hypothesis testing tools to be applied to data sets across programs/ themes after appropriate validation to generate meaningful insights from programmatic and other databases to improve program strategy/ implementation.

b) To propagate these insights across internal and external audiences

4. To produce and disseminate both technical and non-technical research reports and data stories detailing the successes and limitations of each project

5. To evangelize the need for data science across Tata Trusts and its ecosystem by highlighting contemporary success stories and tools in data science and analytics

Job Specifications :

Work Experience, Knowledge & Skills :

Academic :

- Advanced degree in data science, statistics, computer science, economics or similar

- Professional work experience

- ~10 years of credible data science experience across sectors (Desirable - an understanding of social sector datasets).

- Demonstrable history of working with unstructured data, devising and overseeing data-centered projects

- Proficiency in R or Python. In-depth understanding of SQL

- Competence in machine learning principles and techniques

- Proven ability to conceptualize data/technology platform from need definition to RFP to deployment

People and networking :

- Experience in building, managing, and mentoring team of data scientists and analysts

- Belief in the power of data sciences and desire backed by an ability to "sell" data science to colleagues

Research and Publishing :

- The ability to relay insights in layman's terms that can be used to influence strategic decisions by program teams/strategy teams/AI&I teams.

- Flair for writing
