Senior Trader - ISC
Job Purpose :
- Essentially to develop & manage sales into Nepal and/or Bangladesh and/or Sri Lanka of both flat, long and semi products. This would require extensive knowledge of the market, steel products, sector, sources, customers & competitors and would involve travelling.

Key Responsibilities :
- Responsible to develop and deliver a sales plan of steel products into Nepal /Bangladesh/Sri Lanka.
- Should be able to immediately leverage & capitalize on existing relationships with importers and steel producers in the area.
- Manage entire supply chain from sourcing (from mid-sized mills in India) to selling for the product lines- generating enquiry, making offer, contracting with supplier or sourcing office and with customer, coordinating with various agencies to ensure performance as per contract and coordinating for rail and track logistics.
- Identify and develop new customers and manage customers and ensure delivery of volume & margin targets basis global product line plans, on a monthly/quarterly/ annual basis.
- Identify and develop new market segments.
- Monitor market activities and contractual performance.
- Build effective network of insights sharing & connectivity within the Division/ Vertical.
- Manage business risks.
- Settle customer complaints.
- Identify and recommend alliance partners.
- Participate/support in Divisional and Vertical wide initiatives.
Desired Profile :
- Proven track record in trading in Nepal OR Bangladesh OR Sri Lanka and sourcing from mid-sized mills in India.
- Strong business acumen, judgment & self-motivation to operate and grow a dynamic business.
- Minimum 8 - 10 years working experience in steel trading environment.
- Fluent in English
- Good technical knowledge of various Steel products
- Good understanding of INCO TERMS 2010, UCP 600, contract exposure, marine freight (container and/ or bulk), and full knowledge of rail, truck logistics.
- Able to translate strategies into practical action and deliver results.
- Team Player - ability to operate effectively in a multi-cultural team environment (across time zone, work locations etc.).
- Independent thinker to support growth aspirations of the Division/ Vertical.
- Willing to start developing similar trading activities in other geographical areas should the opportunities arise.
