- The incumbent is responsible to develop strategy for portfolio development of the LOB and ensure that it generates the required profit and the ROE.
- The role incumbent is responsible for strategizing on products, markets, distribution, delivery, overall Portfolio management and loss control
- The role incumbent is responsible for ensuring Implementation of the above strategies with interventions for course-corrections & continuous improvement where required
- Incumbent has onus for laying down the underwriting guidelines & authorities and providing technical support and solutions to the branch offices. To work with the underwriters in aligning the product tower's underwriting philosophy in line with that of the organization.
- Role incumbent is also responsible for appropriate delegation of underwriting authorities among the team members & ensure diligent use of such authority by them
- Role incumbent is responsible for focusing on growth in both top-line and bottom-line through a mix of Risk selection, prudent underwriting practices and cost-effective reinsurance protection in line with the Company's philosophy and general cost control.
- Incumbent is liable for ensuring that the product tower is fully compliant with the laws of the land and the guidelines spelt out by the JV partner.
- Role incumbent has responsibility of managing a pan-India team of underwriters, charting career paths for them and also succession planning at different levels
- Incumbent is accountable for ensuring system & structures to sustain & facilitate performance within the LOB
- Audit and Regulatory compliance
