You will be responsible for identifying and solving for labor and compliance risks faced by TaskUs entrance into India. Your first 90 days will require you to work closely with the India startup team as a key member of the Legal Department to educate TaskUs leaders on the requirements associated with employing a large workforce in India and design a plan for meeting these requirements effectively and efficiently at scale. Key Duties: - Identify key startup activities necessary to meet legal requirements in Indore, including all local labor and compliance regulations - Draft and deliver company policies, procedures, and related documents such as employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, work rules, and employee handbooks - Provide advice and counsel to leadership on key risks for India expansion, including potential labor claims and anti-bribery / anti-corruption regulation - Build durable, trusted relationships with service delivery and other internal departments in India as a representative of the legal tea - Monitor and provide regular reporting to internal department stakeholders on labor and compliance risks, including new legislation and other developments - Audit and report on adherence to key company standards on employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, and related items - Occasional travel may be required, but could increase over time to match the company's expansion into other areas within India Physical presence in TaskUs Indore office. - Work or be available at unconventional hours or on the weekends to support global team objectives and meet urgent business needs Qualifications: - Mastery of India labor law - Strong knowledge of other legal compliance areas, such as corporate governance, and anti-bribery/anti-corruption laws. - 5+ years in the legal department of a BPO or adjacent industry - LL.B. from one of the India National Law Universities - Enrollment in the State Bar Council and clearance of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) - Ideally, minimum of 5 years of labor or compliance experience working in the India office of a global law firm and in a corporate environment, preferably at a BPO or adjacent industry Desired skills: - Enthusiastic about solving ambiguous operations problems with support from subject matter experts - Highly analytical - Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills - Takes initiative and does whatever it takes to achieve objectives - Demonstrates the ability to self-evaluate - Understands and utilizes the behaviors of others to personally influence an outcome - Analyzing all aspects of a situation to make consistently sound and timely decisions - Facilitates mutually beneficial outcomes to satisfy various interests and is consistently brought in as a problem solver in challenging situations - Combines knowledge, curiosity, imagination, and evaluation to achieve desired results - Project Management: Able to maintain the objectives while honoring designated constraints - Strong work ethic, impeccable organization and a creative problem solver TaskUs is the fastest growing tech-enabled business services company in the world, delivering the customer support, AI operations and content security services that power the worlds most innovative companies.
