Position Summary :

- This senior position in the Global Software team has broad responsibility for oversight and technical evolution of the software architecture for the Companies internal software solutions. In this role, the Systems Architect will document and monitor adherence to the architecture strategy and principles for the group.

- The Systems Architect will work with members of the Global Software team and the broader IT team to research, evaluate, and formulate recommendations on new technologies, tools, and software development methodologies. The position will provide input into the Software team approach and strategy as it relates to software architecture and will be responsible for communicating and driving architecture principles throughout the organization.

Essential Functions :

- Facilitate architecture documentation and governance process.

- Review technical architecture for Agile teams and software solutions projects at critical check points in the software development lifecycle.

- Promote consistency in software architecture choices across teams and projects.

- Identify and explain gaps in consistency across teams and projects .

Technology R&D

- Lead research and evaluation of new, emerging, trending technologies on product road maps for Agile teams and software solutions projects

- Identify and review Proof of Concept (POC) activities conducted by teams and projects

- Share perspective on existing, anticipated, potential long-range technologies with Global Software team and Global IT Department.

- Provide input on Software team technology vision, strategy, and roadmap working with Architecture Manager and Software Leadership .

Project technology recommendations -

- Make technology and process recommendations to Agile teams and software solutions projects

- Advance individual product technology and Companies- software portfolio overall

- Facilitate technology design and planning of Agile teams and software solutions projects with Global IT Infrastructure team

Cross discipline collaboration -

- Raise software security awareness and share best practices with project teams

- Coordinate on strategic and tactical architecture objectives with Global IT Department

- Collaborate with Data Architect on technology/approach to data management

- Ensure clear and timely communication between all teams

- Lead technical discussions to further vision and innovation with various groups

Management -

- Responsible for appropriate resource allocation of Release Engineer to various projects and initiatives based upon changing needs and priorities

- Serves on various leadership committees to provide insight on process improvement activities

- Provides daily management and direction to Release Engineer

- Cultivates strong collaboration and teamwork across the group

- Manages the professional development of the Release Engineer through coaching and performance feedback

- Continually leads and develops Release Engineer to ensure high quality results and processes

Skill set required:-

- 10 to 12 years of experience in application development including work on all aspects of the development life cycle. This must include at least 3 years of strong contributions to technology discussion and decisions on project work

- Experience with .NET development in both Windows and Web applications

- Experience with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server

- High performance and standards as demonstrated by academic or previous job experience

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- Strong analytic and problem solving skills
