Job Description

Our growing Swiggy Instamart team is looking for India head of Fruits and Vegetables planning. The candidate will manage demand prediction, reorder logic and own end-to-end availability for the category.

The Senior Manager FnV planning will be responsible for leading inventory management strategies to maximize customer experience, sales, margin and turns, as well as end-to-end business ownership of all supply chain processes from manufacturer to consumer. He/she will use data to influence others and build scalable systems & processes, rather than just addressing single issues. He/she will play a critical role in delivering the optimal customer experience by ensuring we have the right product quantities, in the right places, at the right time. To achieve this mission, he/she will work to continuously optimize our end-to-end supply chain by engaging with vendors to improve operational metrics and driving system and process automation with key internal teams.

The successful candidate must be highly organized and possess strong data extraction and analytical capabilities. They are able to self-manage competing priorities, driving both strategic and tactical activities and parallel, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong candidates will have knowledge in fundamental business principles and previous relevant experience. The ideal candidate is able to lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to set up a team and manage the following process across the country:

- Demand Planning: Determining the order quantities by taking into account forecasts, historical trends and inventory targets

- Inventory availability: Maximize availability of assortment fulfilled via warehouse and direct store delivery

- Inventory Management: Manage warehouse inventory based on SKU level stock norms and warehouse capacity constraints. Manage inventory availability and inventory health including improved in-stock, turns, vendor operational improvement (efficiency, fill rates, lead time) and forecasting

- He/she should be able to automate key processes required to scale through excel macros and/or off the shelf products.

- Integrate key Instock metrics with broader business metrics to deliver optimal customer experience

- Have a complete understanding of end-to-end supply chain for Multiple Vendors and complex modelling of workflows

- Responsible for defining Operational strategy & Manage day-to-day operational relationships with procurement and inventory liquidation team for further optimization, including product lifecycle management, expanding selection and optimize sourcing recommendations / decisions.

- Drive metrics to improve efficiency including inventory replenishment, managing overstock inventory, and operational processes

- Maintain vendor relationships and work on vendor performance improvement through daily communication, training sessions, tracking purchase orders, investigating late deliveries, resolving order rejections, working with vendors on PO automation, etc.

- Demonstrate a deep understanding of Inventory Management tools and an ability to work with technical teams to advocate for tool enhancements

- Be an Automation Champion

Desired Skills

- 4+ years of experience in inventory planning, operations/supply chain, retail, and/or ecommerce, with a history of driving/owning results

- Proven ability to manage large and complicated projects with experience leading cross-functional projects and teams

- Strong proficiency in analytics tools including Microsoft Excel and SQL

- Ability to influence and inspire action in others, regardless of organization reporting line

- Professional experience in operations, inventory planning, demand forecasting, and/or product life cycles

- The position requires an individual who can work autonomously in a demanding and often ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail and effective prioritization

- Possesses strong analytical abilities to run a strong data driven function

- Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.

- The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a high level of flexibility and commitment.
