Legal Team at Swiggy:- Legal Counsel will support on acquisitions and mergers, structuring of deals, due diligence, CP &amp; CS compliances, new business initiatives and will work on a wide range of commercial matters, including corporate advisory, advice on regulatory requirements FDI and ODI, etc. The Legal Counsel will work on structuring, drafting and negotiating strategic agreements/alliances, keep a watch on new government policies in the start-up eco system and working understanding of DTAA. Identify risk exposure and take steps to mitigate the same in a pre and post transaction situations. Job Description and Responsibilities:- 1) Swiggy is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel, who can lead the legal and compliance assignments for Swiggy Business. This person shall be responsible for the leading team for Swiggy's e-commerce business primarily responsible for setting up processes for managing Contracts and Litigations, statutory compliances, review risk mitigation strategies and support new business initiatives. 2) He/She shall be responsible for setting up a legal framework to ensure regulatory and legal compliance, support procurement, operations, product compliance, licensing, training, etc. 3) Will support the business teams in product development, product procurement, contract management, support new business initiatives and will work on a wide range of commercial matters including imparting compliance trainings, advice on licensing and regulatory requirements under Information Technology Law, Food Law and Motor Vehicle Law, etc. 4) Will ensure regulatory requirements and risks are broadly understood by his/her stakeholders and managed; structuring, drafting and negotiating strategic agreements/alliances. This role shall report into the Head Legal and closely work with swiggy business. 5) Team Management, Structuring and evaluating new business initiatives &amp; drafting policies. Setting Up Governance Structure. 6) Advising and supporting end-to-end on-going businesses undertaken by Swiggy and proactively advise and assist in managing important change in laws and regulation. - Lead the team in developing processes, policies and procedures designed to reduce legal risk and/or increase efficiency. 7) Work with support functions and business team to ensure that policies of the company are being implemented, work with business teams to ensure compliance and smooth implementation of policies and processes. Work on new projects. Responsible for instructing and interacting with law firms. Desired Candidate and Skillset:- 1) Competence in broad range of corporate and business laws, especially in both Indian domestic and trans-national commercial transaction and intellectual property. 2) Extensive experience and strong skills in drafting and negotiating contracts; Extensive experience in analyzing and responding to regulatory and compliance matters. Excellent ability to analyze and assess business processes, spot issues and propose/implement solutions; Ability to function autonomously yet communicate laterally and upwardly with ease. 3) Strong legal and business judgment. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English &amp; Hindi. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and coordinate complex issues and projects with diverse levels of management and employees. - Ready and willing to take up new projects. 4) LL.B. (undergraduate law degree) from a recognized university in India. Candidates with CS qualification may be preferred. 5) 8 years or more of in-house legal post qualification experience with considerable experience of e-commerce company is highly preferred. 6) Experience working in a consumer-products, food retail, FMCG, e-commerce or hospitality services is preferred. Competence in a broad range of Food laws, Corporate laws, Labour Laws, Commercial Contracts, Payment Laws, Intellectual Property Laws, Information Technology Law and Legal Metrology law is required.
