Description : ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE :

As part of the Revenue and Growth team, the New Initiatives vertical targets Swiggy's uber vision of being Kings of Convenience by providing the on-demand guaranteed deliveries for the newer business lines including Instamart, Genie, Minis, Meats & Alcohol, and Stores Marketplace.


- This technical vertical inside the Swiggy Tech ecosystem focus to solve multiple business use cases for increasing Swiggy's revenue and providing growth in terms of monthly orders, new customer acquisitions, customer retention, etc. We try to understand our customer behavior and build smart products using cutting-edge technologies to solve these problems at scale. We operate on a scale of millions of customer interactions on the Swiggy App daily.

- You will be the technical leader of the company. It will be your responsibility (and pleasure) to guide the team in adding new features, updating existing ones, enhancing reliability and performance, optimizing processes, and recruiting and training new team members.

- As an Engineering Manager; you will be responsible for Leading development teams responsible for delivering accurate and timely data in innovative ways for our Engineering teams. The successful candidate will have influence over the vision, features, and design of the critical data used to drive the business. You will own all phases of the development lifecycle from gathering business requirements, design and modeling, development, deployment, and support. You are responsible for all things people on your team hiring and developing a high-performing team of software engineers.

What qualities are we looking for? :

- 8+ years of progressive technology experience in Software Engineering functions and building multi-tiered, distributed web front-end systems, with at least 1 year of experience in team management.

- Proven ability in architecture and building scalable systems.

- Understand software architecture and system design very well

- Expertise in- UI fundamentals, working experience on React JS, React Native, Vue, Mobile Native apps, and system design/architecture, including building highly scalable systems

- Excellent project management skills, with experience building complex software systems, scoping requirements and successfully launching products

- Technical leadership experience in building complex software systems from scoping requirements to the actual launch

- Outstanding coding skills in a high-level programming language (React, Vue, etc.)

What will you get to do here? :

- Oversee all aspects of product development, from prototyping new ideas to designing and coding new systems to setting strategic architectural direction

- Be the technical leader, helping with design/architecture work, coding, and implementation

- Manage a team of software engineers: hire, mentor, and develop top engineering talent

- Determine and lead the strategic direction of the user experience and our web frontend architecture

- Provide engineering execution excellence, as well as technical vision and direction, to ensure the development team is aligned with the strategy of the company

- Work closely with the Design and Product team to define the right set of Customer flows and evolve them into global products

- Lead and manage an effective engineering function to support product development and quality of life for the development team-

- Build a development dream team, including recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and performance management-

- Work closely with the company leaders including the technical founder, product, operations, and Customer Care to strategically- Use fact-based analyses to deliver recommendations

- Make decisions related to managing the software development process and team
