Chief Product Officer - Technologies

About The Ecosystem:

- Swaniti Initiative and its technology partner Ank Aha Private Limited, work together to deliver on the vision of - Data as a Public Good- for (i) enabling informed and aware citizens who can affect change and (ii) for better government and administrative decision making. We have built a team of data and technology experts to create web, mobile and backend systems using the latest technologies who work in conjunction with governance, policy and development experts who understand the bottlenecks of delivering public services. Swaniti Initiative is a non-partisan, social enterprise that delivers development solutions to policy makers and representatives. Swaniti works with state governments and Parliamentarians across 17 states. 

- We work through a three-pronged approach: provide research support on key government programs and initiatives, on ground implementation insights for delivery of public service and technological intervention to improve service delivery (via Ank Aha). The combined team works towards finding societal problems that can be tackled with technology and directly with government, administrative bodies and citizens to deploy the solutions. We have built multiple Management Information Systems, Resource Planning Systems, Mobile Applications, Dashboards and Artificial Intelligence tools for analysing big data that focus on creating social impact

JOB PURPOSE: 

- To be the bridge between the technology team and the policy sector team to create new products and solve challenges for the citizens. Job would include, directing the technology team for product development and engaging with the policy team, and citizens to creatively solve social challenges. 

- This role requires a leader who has the entrepreneurial zeal to create impact by conceptualizing and deploying new disruptive data and technology solutions relevant to the social development sector for impact and upliftment of millions of lives.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Entrepreneurial experience in technology is valued

- The CPO will be expected to have a demonstrated record of being a - problem solver- with ability to create out-of-box data-tech solutions for real on-ground problems.

- At least 6 to 7 years of active work experience in the public or private sector with a role dealing directly with handling technology products and leading teams.

- Good understanding of programming and software development processes

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

- Strong leadership skills with a team player attitude

- Critical thinking skills with excellent oral and written communication skills

- Passion and commitment to work for large scale impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Manage and expand current technology products (Survey Collection Platform, JaanoIndia - Public Data Platform, Jaano - Civic Participation Platform)

- Conceptualizing new products and features for technology tools to solve problems in peoples- lives.

- Lead the development and deployment to scale of existing and new products.

- Analyzing and interpreting complex social sector data sets to identify patterns for providing insights and tools for various stakeholders and

WORKING CONDITIONS :

Work hours: Generally 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday

Employees covered with Health Insurance. 50% premium contribution by organisation.
