SVP, Product Control Technology,

Role Summary :

- The purpose of this role is to be the regional Leader in India for concept, design, build, integration and delivery of applications, tools and utilities to deliver solutions for global and regional strategic initiatives between techunit and various businesses, technology and operations teams within Product Control. Key aspects of role also includes DevOps & Migration Tools, governance of coding disciple, and cloud migration in micro services architecture. The person is expected to lead a team of 40+ Engineers ( Java, Data, Hadoop etc), DevOps Engineers and UI specialists, Business Analysts to accomplish several things.

- Product Control Technology Team in Pune support the Product Control Department who have responsibility for controlling daily profit-and-loss reporting, profit-and-loss attribution analysis, Independent price verification, Valuation Adjustment, new trading activity, global FX exposure management and LIBOR submission. Product Control Tech Team work closely with many areas of the business, including the Trading desks, Middle Office, Risk Management, Operations and Finance. Product Control Team consist of innovative and enthusiastic technologists to work on the day-to-day management and reengineering of Product Control platform to move to modern architecture including micro services, distributed computing and big data.

Job Description Summary:

A. Responsible to build and manage a strong development team from sourcing of candidates, interviewing, hiring, training, Manage talent acquisition, performance appraisals, coaching and related functions of teams.

B. Be Hands-on and own and be responsible for end-to-end applications development and delivery.

C. Manage multiple developments teams in APAC locations and diverse cultures and environments onshore/offshore/vendor teams.

D. Provides technical leadership and expertise to ensure efficient design, development and implementation.

E. Develops strategy and exercising control over resources, budget management and planning which impacts the application development function; accountable for end-to-end results.

F. Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how the development function integrates within overall business/technology to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.

G. Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external resources.

H. Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across Product Control and Treasury functions); may communicate with external parties.

I. Participate in change control boards and steering committees and provides inputs for technology prioritization, estimation, delivery and post implementation reviews.

J. Gain functional domain knowledge and support team in delivery of critical regulatory runs on the platform, if required by getting hands-on analyzing and troubleshooting.

K. Role is equal parts Delivery manager Engineering Manager and Architect.

L. Enhancing Architectural quality of the platform to target state architecture principles/ guidelines to local teams to help evolve the platform

Technical Knowledge/Experience :

A. 15+ years of Experience in Java/ETL based data processing systems/platform development at top tier Banks/ FIs

B. Should have led and developed Enterprise scale platforms, products, or frameworks.

C. Strong knowledge on Java, databases, Parallel/Cluster compute frameworks, Hadoop/Spark/HDFS/Big Data technologies.

D. Strong proven experience of managing multiple scrum/feature driven development teams.

E. Strong Database knowledge using Oracle/MongoDB/Snowflake.

F. Experience in Micro Services, Docker containers, Kubernetes and Cloud platforms like AWS.

G. Familiar with standard SDLC and Agile processes, OOAD, DDD

H. Good understanding of Finance data flows and Finance applications within large bank. Prior experience with Product Control Technology would be an advantage.

I. Sound leadership, decision making and people skills including that of nurturing and mentoring talent directing them to the targeted goals

J. Problem solving and analytical skills along with the abilities to present the same through written and verbal communications

K. Good change management discipline

L. Ability to interact with partner systems/ teams / Production management is improving system health, data flows, scalability of the platform

Qualifications :

A. Bachelor/ Master's degree in Computer Sciences /Engineering or related discipline.

B. Certification in areas of Business Analysis (CBAP or equivalent)/Scrum Master (CSM) would be an advantage.
