Suzlon - Senior Role - Purchase

Key Responsibility

- Planning & Procurement of BOM & NON-BOM material considering its lead time of processing & procurement, PO creation.

- Devise & implement Procurement Plan for all items including imports.

- Procuring materials in set parts to avoid excess inventory on individual components.

- Exploring & developing alternate sources for critical/non-critical components to reduce single source component supplier.

- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with local governments and customs authorities and any other neighboring companies to secure purchasing activities.

- Coordinate, supervise and evaluate all purchasing activities of subordinates

- Reconciliation of supplier account

- Negotiations with supplier & Costing of Components

Prior exposure and familiarity:

Exposure to panel production industry

Major Challenges :

1) To control material prices in a continuosly fluctuating market conditions.

2) Envision market conditions and pricing, including the impact of global economic scenario.

3) Develop supplier competencies for continual improvement and new product development initiatives.

4) To minimize inventory variance (SAP vs. PHY).

5) Maintaining supplier base in a dynamic situation

6) Supplier development for capacity enhancement, quality improvement for Existing as well as new business.

7) Change over to Market driven customer PO based purchasing

8) Cost control - through VA/VE, New supplier base, negotiation, Volume discounts

9) Purchase of Material on the minimum level of Cost.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Educational Qualifications: BE Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics

Type of Institute: Any institute of repute with AICTE approval

Skills: Good Bargaining Skills

Special Certification Course: SAP and MS Office

Relevant Experience (Yrs): 12-15 Years

Total Experience: 14-18 Year
