Product Manager - Digital Client Engagement (Paperless)

To redefine how advisors and clients interact and collaborate, adding ease, effectiveness and convenience with each new feature we introduce. Across web and mobile, we- ll build a system suited to client's changing needs and preferences. We- ll manage, measure and optimize this system continuously, deepening our insights and improving effectiveness.

Your role is to build awesome digital experiences that users love and will build out our user base and usage level. You- ll lead a vision focused on moving clients off of paper and onto our web and mobile platforms with a clear roadmap and prioritized features to build. You will be guided by your deep understanding of our clients, our competitors as well as digital innovators, and your close relationships with business and other stakeholders. You will manage budget and priorities carefully, aligning the spend to hit the sweet spot between client needs, business goals, and technology choices. You- ll be accountable for not only the performance and evolution of our client digital channels, but also their adoption, directing marketing and communications efforts to represent the platforms in various media.

Responsibilities :

- Be an advocate for the paperless experience, owning all outcomes

- Define, set, and drive the vision for the experience, owning all issues as you move the roadmap forward

- Have a good understanding of clients/ users, their needs, and pain points

- Understand and stay at leading edge of existing market solutions/ components

- Work with ES partners to develop a technology target state and roadmap for a paperless experience

- Work with other functional product managers (e.g. Compliance, Legal, IT) to resolve product issues and to create a seamless integration into the city plan / neighbourhood plan

- Oversee ongoing feature development and release pipeline consistent with OneSun engineering / architecture standards

- Own adoption strategy and oversee delivery of paperless targets, ensuring the experience delivers as intended and strategically adjusting plans

- Understand user behaviour and usage of the product to inform ongoing refinement of product vision and feature pipeline

- Work with external partners/vendors to explore and integrate new capabilities

Competencies :

- Strong collaboration skills, working with cross-Business Unit governance groups across web, social and mobile, contributing ideas for standards and processes that help Sun Life Financial stay aligned in digital channels

- Excellent problem solving skills to analyze options and arrive at the best solution

- Innovative thinking that can break down barriers and provide unique solutions

- Firm grasp of development methodologies, particularly agile development

- Continuous learning mind-set in order to test-and-learn

- Strong skills at process definition and optimization, developing and building upon best practices

- Analytical skills to develop or leverage reporting tools to measure performance of digital channels

- Effective relationship builder with skills to influence

- Expert written and verbal communications skills

- Broad financial services knowledge

- Able to understand, influence and leverage internal IT talent and processes

Education and experience :

- Degree in Technology, Marketing or Business

- Experience in applied business technology

- 3-7 years- experience working with digital products, preferably in the financial services industry

- A depth of strategic experience with a focus on business model evolution

- Sound understanding of financial and accounting concepts

- Individual Insurance and Investments distribution and product knowledge
