High Level Job Description:

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to lead the shared services team that services over $200B across a wide range of asset types as Head of Investment Performance and will be closely working with Client Service Managers based in US and Operation teams in connection with the performance of duties related to the calculation of daily & monthly fund performances. He/she will be responsible for accurate and timely Performance figures for all clients. Provide quality Performance Attribution analysis to the clients on a routine and Adhoc basis utilizing the EAGLE accounting platform. The candidate should have sound GIPS standards and attribution calculations.

The job holder is also responsible for ensuring that all issues are resolved satisfactorily, within agreed procedures/guidelines. Any queries on policy must be escalated to the respective Manager.

Essential Role Functions

- Lead global performance and attribution team to deliver capabilities to clients across multiple investment strategies.

- Perform calculations, analysis, research, and report preparation to support performance measurement, risk, and portfolio management processes and tools.

- Own performance calculation systems to improve the teams performance reporting and attribution capabilities.

- Maintain efficient production processes and controls to ensure accurate calculations for investment performance characteristics and to capture returns at security and account level.

- Oversee internal compliance with Global Investment Performance Standards.

- Respond to ad-hoc requests and participate in special projects as needed.

- Superior internal and client service skills; ability to own day to day management of client experience and engage with senior level staff.

- Business domain knowledge Mutual fund & Hedge fund industry with overview of portfolio management and accounting.

- Sound knowledge of middle and back-office work in typical asset management firm.

- Knowledge of asset management and accounting platform e.g., EDM, Eagle, Geneva would be an added advantage.

- Manage workload to successfully meet set deadlines, adhere to monthly team schedule assisting other team members when required, while being mindful of periods of increased reporting requirements and deadline sensitivity, i.e., month & quarter end.

Risk & Control

- Interact with different stakeholders, Operations and Technology Team to resolve process issues and play key role in adding process controls and efficiencies.

- Maintain high hygiene standards in the team and ensure team follows all process controls with no lapses.

- Ability to comprehend the upstream and downstream impact of any Data activity, along with the Risk and controls associated to the same.

- Have a better understanding of all the Risk and Controls and should be able to lead the Risk and Control self-assessment for the process.

Process Improvements and Change Management

- Have a proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to bring the issues to the closure.

- Identify process improvement opportunities and record the hard or soft saves.

- Developing of individual scorecards and provide monthly feed backs to improve performance.

- Actively participate and manage global & local initiatives.

- Identify & escalate issues, exceptions, procedure gaps to supervisor in a timely manner

- Responsible for MIS reporting in a timely manner, Data Analysis & preparing Business Reviews on a regular basis.

- Active participation in technology calls by giving ideas for enhancing the business rules.

- Ability to suggest quick manual work around solutions for meeting the immediate front office/middle business requirements till such time the technology solution comes in Place.

Training & Development

- Facilitate training and development for team members and peers.

- Learning the process and exception scenarios in a crashed timeframe.

- Better Knowledge of regulations impacting the reference data, Client, Account and Product level data.

- Should have good Grasping power, able to learn faster and conduct training sessions of all the learnings to the new joiners.

Communication

- Listens openly to feedback from managers and colleagues and uses information to improve personal performance and work practices.

- Articulates ideas and issues in clear concise language.

- Shares information openly and communicates effectively with team members and with other teams.

- Listens well, incorporating others feedback and ideas, and responds appropriately.

- Good verbal and written communication

Experience & Qualifications

- Minimum 10 years in financial services, including investment performance

- In-depth knowledge of performance, attribution and composite tracking systems, equity and fixed income performance attribution experience, and strong understanding of multiple security types

- Significant experience with Global Investment Performance Standards

- Skill to prioritize initiatives and deliver quality projects - accurately, on time

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills

- Must be precise, thorough and detail oriented, with expertise in effectively reviewing extensive amounts of data and information.

- Bachelors Degree in Commerce preferred

- CIPM designation will be an advantage.
