Position description - Head of Stores

Location - Bangalore/Mumbai/Delhi, INDIA

Job Description:

- We are looking for a talented, dynamic individual to oversee the management of our entire retail operations.

- The person will be responsible for overall success of all retail outlets, which includes meeting the financial, marketing, growth, customer service and employee engagement targets We are looking for someone who also subscribes to our philosophy of running the stores and ensuring that that culture is spread throughout the team.

- At each of our stores, the product should be consistently highlighted, the service should be friendly, quick, and efficient; yet staff should also have the skills and knowledge to explain our latest offerings and guide customers towards selecting the right products.

Specific responsibilities will include:

- Financial and Business Management Overall management and oversight of all financial and growth targets.

- Develop and oversee budgets and financial performance of each store and drive initiatives to lead growth while maintaining control of expenses.

- Maintain quality standards in all areas of operational activity and drive sales and profitability through the performance and development of store management teams and business processes.

- Lead weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reviews, and presentations to the founding team.

- Oversee and build sales, budgets, projections, costs and overhead. Develop and oversee execution of strategies for high/low performing locations, new product and location launches and lead new business development idea generation.

- Develop systems and processes to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative retail data to develop initiatives to monitor and improve performance, engagement and customer experience.

- Operational Oversight Understand the details of the retail store operations, including all operating standards, sneakers, apparels, Quickly recognise when a standard is not being met, and develop systems and processes for store managers to lead improvement at scale.

- Spend time in stores with the teams and customers to understand and identify the business' critical issues in order to ensure the alignment of strategies; maintain the identity of VegNonVeg in all the regions and related initiatives.

- Create and oversee systems to ensure quick and efficient service.

- Lead cross departmental meetings with Merchandising, Supply & Production, Marketing and Project leadership to ensure smooth functioning and clear communication across departments.

- Ensure that the retail operation complies to all policies and procedures relating to Security, Health and Safety; influence any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements.

- People and Culture Oversee a culture of experimentation, innovation and learning amongst the team members in the stores, and products.

- Develop a collaborative, team-oriented culture across front of house and back of house departments across all locations.

- Hire, develop and mentor area managers (in the future) Create and develop a coaching culture with customer service, sales and product training programmes.

- Keep a pulse on overall staff progression and shortcomings and come up with creative ideas to plot career advancement.

Requirements:

- 6+ years of progressive retail leadership or equivalent experience with direct ownership of a P&L, leading operations, change and people development involving a front-line team in a pan India role.

- Experience managing mid-level employees with a proven track record of developing high performing teams.

- A deep appreciation for creating exceptional customer experiences and an appreciation for sneakers.

- Ability to adapt and bring structure to unstructured environments.

- Ability to communicate in an environment where English is the second language.

- Self-motivated, focused, driven individual who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.

- Must be willing to travel frequently.
