JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: VP, First Line of Defense (FLOD), Hyderabad, India

Role Summary :

State Street is seeking a senior leader within its First Line of Defence team based in Hyderabad, India. This role reports to the head of India FLOD, and will require very frequent interactions with the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities :

Organisational / Operations :

- Contribute towards the establishment of a strong FLOD foundation in India.

- Support the development and implementation of strategic planning for business initiatives in the region.

- Co-ordinate with various business leads/teams onshore and offshore to ensure strategic alignment.

- Oversee all management information and reporting in the region, present in-depth analytics to the senior management for strategic decision making.

- Lead efforts related to regulator and client visit to the region.

- Develop, execute and maintain various controls across operations in the region to ensure consistent quality.

- Identify and provide strategic solutions to the business problems or operational issues.

- Lead benchmarking efforts across the operations through the suitable models.

- Strategically lead business review meetings across various groups and drive corporate objectives and management mandates.

- Exercise discretion and judgment with respect to matters of significance.

- Develop in depth knowledge and understanding of State Street operations in the region.

- Organize processes, manage people and resources in a way that improve efficiency and effectiveness of areas of responsibility

- Maintain accountability for the general management of all expenses against allocated budgets for areas of direct responsibility.

People :

- Manage, motivate, develop and retain a team, which delivers exceptional and qualitative service.

- Showcase strong leadership with senior management in other business areas/locations.

- Lead in the continuous improvement in staff engagement, development and planning.

- Attract, retain and develop a high performing and diverse workforce.

- Create an environment that motivates and supports people to achieve higher performance and that develops their capabilities for the future.

- Emphasise staff engagement combined with experience levels of those staff and career planning and progression for staff.

Experience / Qualification / Key Skills / Attributes :

- Financial services, banking operations experience is an advantage

- Possess good knowledge/experience with various analytical tools, including Excel.

- Ability to participate in and contribute at a strategic level to all facets of the business; understands the role and inter-relationships of each organizational function (eg. operations, products, technology, finance, human resources etc); have experience and proven skill in managing across functional and organizational lines brings own area of expertise to the table.

- Understand strategic/business plan; ability to set a strategic direction for areas of responsibility and ensur goals/objectives are aligned with those of the business.

- Possess some of knowledge of

- Custody and administration products and services

The industry;

- Our customers and prospects;

- The competitive environment;

- Other State Street businesses.

- Demonstrates a strong commitment to organizational success; work to do what is best for the organization and it- stakeholders (eg customers, shareholders, and employees); ability to make and stand by difficult o unpopular decisions when they are in the best interests of the client or corporation.

- Ability to manage multiple products/business and the competing priorities thereof.
