State Director- Disaster Management for a Non-Profit Organization

Job brief

The organization is looking for an experienced candidate as its State Program Implementation Director (SPD) to own and head the Maharashtra state operations for the project stated above.

SPD will be responsible for implementation of the program in the assigned state. The SPD will oversee the management, coordination, and administration of all aspects of this project including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, procurement, logistics management and controlling program activities.

S/he will supervise managers and inform Head Office (HO) on progress and performance. The goal is to ensure a successful program delivery and add the highest possible value to the organization.

The SPD will be expected to have a broad program management knowledge. One with a strategic mindset and team development capacity can successfully head this position. Good leadership personality traits are required.

Responsibilities :

- Initiate and set goals for the project according to the strategic objectives of the organization

- Plan the programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones

- Develop and approve budgets, utilization, operations

- Closely work with multiple government authorities to ensure compliance of program operations and activities to legal guidelines and policies.

- Engage with villagers to secure their buy-in for the proposed work in every village.

- Engage with the statewide volunteer base of the organization for optimum utilization of their available skills and undertake to the staff of local human resource

- Procure the high costing machinery, maintain the utilization properly

- Apply change, risk, and resource management principles when needed; in that plan, deploy and mobilize the machinery across villages as per the requirement.

- Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and improvements

- Supervise and mentor entire project team; provide timely feedback

- Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of processes and people

- Read reports prepared by managers to determine progress and issues

- Keep senior management informed with detailed and accurate timely reports

- Documentation, State Level Data analysis, Report generations, Presentations

- Use a technology platform for efficiently handling operations of the program

- Owning responsibility of Social Media, PR and communication

Requirements :

- Proven experience as Program Director or other Sr. Program Management position, preferable in the supply chain and logistics management/infrastructure domain

- Thorough understanding of program management techniques and methods

- Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics

- Sound knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting

- Working knowledge of MS office and program management software

- Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills

- An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities

Qualifications :

- Education: MBA or any other post-Graduation degree

- Knowledge, skills, and abilities

- Knowledge of State Level Program Management

- Proficiency in the use of computers for Word processing, Databases, Spreadsheets, Simple accounting, E-mail, the Internet
