Bandhan Bank - Government Business - State Head Job Description : Key Responsibilities / Deliverables : - Formulation of strategy for the assigned State(s), Road Map and Execution as per timelines. - Empanelment of bank at state / organization level for banking arrangements for both agency and non-agency businesses. - Understanding of state plans on Treasury/other Platform Automation, eGovernance projects and initiate for bank's participation/on-boarding - SNA for Central/State Sponsored Schemes and other projects. - Creation of bank's visibility/brand awareness in Govt. and Public Sector space through promotional activities. - Engage with and source business from : a. State level Corporations, PSUs, Boards, Urban Local Bodies, SPVs, PPPs, Autonomous Bodies and granular business relationships at Zilla, Taluk, GP level. b. Central PSEs, Defence Establishments, Autonomous Bodies and their Exempted PF /Gratuity /Superannuation Fund Trusts. - Promote and achieve cross sell business through CMS, Merchant Acquiring and Digital Products. - Achievement of allocated target for the state(s) for the quarter/half year/financial year in terms of CASA, FD (NTB &ETB) and Fee Income. - Ensure for self and team members' individual target/productivity achievement with focus on granular business. - Promotion of tax collections - Direct Taxes, Indirect Taxes and other mandates at Central/State level. Initiate meetings of chartered accountants, tax practitioners and industry forums and other measures. - Coordinate/collaborate with branch banking and other business vertical teams for bringing awareness about government business products/services, generation and conversion of leads Motivate branches for increased share of Govt. Business in their overall liability book. - Track industry trends, competition and policy changes that impact government business for the bank and undertake/initiate appropriate measures for business improvement/sustainability. - Understanding of the customized requirements of the clients and work on solution in coordination with internal stakeholders - Product, IT, Line Manager and any other related function. Smooth roll out and implementation of projects to be done. - Initiation and participation in tenders floated by Govt. Bodies / PSUs for notified banking arrangements (CMS, e-Governance solutions etc.,) - work around pre-bid and post-bid activities. - Achievement of business viability as per the set timelines by having control on profitability at client and portfolio level. - Track portfolio behavior/daily movements, analysis and undertake measures for sustainable business goals through de-risking. Compliance, Risk aspects in the accounts conduct to be addressed. - Be a Nodal/Interface Point for all the Government/Public Sector interactions/requirements and attend to the meetings convened by them, if any. Attend to the quarterly/periodic review meetings convened by RBI, AG's Office on agency business; Attend to the meetings convened by other agencies like O/o. CGA on PFMS related review meetings at state level. - Team Management - Mentor/guide the resources (RMs) through sharing of knowledge, handholding, enabling work for achieving their key performance indicators and prepare them for higher responsibilities. - Initiate identification of suitable candidates and needful action for recruitment of sanctioned RM positions. Requirements : Professional : - Overall experience of 12-17 years in banking and financial services, of which at-least 5-6 years proven experience in team handling role. - Experience in Government/Public Sector and Institutional Business is must. - Must have existing contacts with bureaucrats, senior government officials and the top executives in PSUs. - Clear understanding of the Govt. business dynamics and changing policy trends that impact business and strategies for overcoming the challenges. - Ability to engage with bureaucrats and other decision making functionaries in Govt./PSU segment and influence on banking matters. - Strong orientation towards the technology/digital enabled governance projects implemented by Central/State Governments, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), PSUs and banking solutions thereof. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. Academic : A graduate/post graduate from any recognized university Age : Not more than 45 years.
