Background: GIA is an independent function whose primary role is to help the Board and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation, and sustainability of the Group. GIA will adhere to the Definition of Internal Auditing, the Core Principles for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, Code of Ethics and the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing that are published by the Institution of Internal Auditing (IIA). All members of GIA strive to operate as role models for the Group's valued behaviours. The GIA Chief Operations Officer (COO)'s team supports the GIA COO in management of the GIA function. The GIA COO's duty includes, Governance and Delivery of the Audit Strategy, Risk Assessments, and Audit Planning. Core Responsibilities: The role of Manager, Risk Assessments, COO, works within the GIA COO team, supporting the operations of the function including: - In the implementation of the functional strategy, specifically in leading the GIA Risk Assessment, and Audit Planning process. - In building awareness and understanding of the risk assessment process; and - Is committed to driving outcomes for both GIA, as well as GIA initiatives, which impact the wider organisation and its customers. Strategy: - Ensure a strong awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and model, and the implications for the risk assessment process. - Support the delivery of strategic targets set from inside and outside the organisation on GIA's performance, which are set out in the functional strategy. Business: - Awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy, business model, and the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates. - Closely engaged with wider audit functions and industry to learn about audit practices. Processes: Risk Assessments and Audit Planning - Coordinate periodic risk assessment and support the GIA Management Team (MT) in the production of an Audit Plan for submission to the Audit Committee for approval. - This role is responsible for the effective coordination and delivery of periodic risk assessment and support of the function in defining an Audit Plan based upon this risk assessment. - Monitor industry risks and provide suitable - outside-in- challenge to the Audit Plan. - Support ongoing assessment of the GIA Methodology framework to simplify and remain fit for purpose in supporting the GIA Functional Strategy and meeting regulatory requirements. - Support implementation of ongoing updates, alignment to Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) and Industry best practices, and development of a training programme for methodology learning. - Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. People and Talent: - Support the initiatives to build awareness and understanding of the risk assessment process both internal and external to the function.. Risk Management: - Support the COO in maintaining a rigorous risk management framework for the function. - Continue to drive the simplification of the risk assessment process as part of the function's ongoing change initiatives. Governance: - The role holder will focus on the assessment of the needs of the function, the design of Audit Strategy, Risk Assessments, Audit Planning, and Committee Reporting, and their impact. - Support the GIA functional strategy and Bank's strategic priorities in delivering customer values, driving productivity, optimising cost efficiencies, facilitating #simplefasterbetter, and living the valued behaviours. Regulatory &amp; Business Conduct: - Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct. - Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct,Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct. - Support the COO team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: The Right Environment. - Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Key Stakeholders : GIA COO; GIA MT; GIA staff &nbsp; Other Responsibilities : - As part of the wider COO team, the role holder will be expected to support the delivery of the function's priorities with ad hoc project work as required. - Embed Here for Good and Group's brand and Valued Behaviours in the GIA COO team and support these across the wider function. - Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: - Chartered Accountant with 12+ years of experience from Banking OR Big 4 Audit or Risk professional, ideally with a recognized qualification and membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors; alternatively, a Risk Management professional with previous exposure to internal audit - Strong understanding the complicity of Risk Assessment and ideally in Audit function and will be excepting to lead the aspect of GIA risk assessment process and engaging with country Product heads of Audit and good communication skills - Core skills in use of Microsoft Office systems (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) - Driven and self-motivated - Able to deliver quality work with minimal supervision - Collaborative and committed to learning
