Standard Chartered - Data Risk & Controls Lead (10-18 yrs)

Key Roles and Responsibilities-

- Ensure essential data quality management procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards

- Define and implement controls and assurance mechanism within the DQMF

- Embed DQ controls within TDR functions and establish procedures for the teams to self-assess data related risks

- Oversee and supervise the execution of all processes carried out by the team members, in accordance with all standard operating instructions.

- Ensure a robust and appropriate key documentation are available and updated for the risk processes managed by the team. This includes process key control, operating instructions, process performance indicators (KPI) and process risk indictors (KRI).

- Support the relevant committees and working group where group risk has vested stakeholder interests.

- Produce and distribute risk data quality reports, monitoring of risk data quality metrics and preparation of governance packs

- Appropriately assess risk and controls business decisions are made

- Actively manage all issues with respect to the generation of risk metrics through a process of data validation, breaks/gaps identification, investigation, issue documentation/risk reporting, fix planning and closure

- Provide recommendations for measuring and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operational control processes, and data compliance activities, helping to close mitigation actions

- Drive the agenda of Know Your Data and Monitor Your Data for the domain along with Data Governance Lead

- Continually monitor and identify opportunities to improve data quality and reduce data related risks

- Engage stakeholders to embed data standards in designing or product selection stage to ensure data quality standards are maintained from the production implementation

- Actively participate in Data Governance forums to drive sustainable practices for reducing data quality risks

- Responsible to drive actions to maintain DQ risks of the domain in acceptable level

Our Ideal Candidate

- Industry experience of 12+ years with 5+ years of working experience in the areas of risk assessment and management

- Experience of developing and rolling out effective process controls for risk mitigations

- Strong problem-solving skills with careful assessment of data risks

- Ability to assess and recommend effective and sustainable mitigation actions

- Knowledge on industry practices on data quality management and related risk management

- Understanding of cyber security products and banks operational model.

- Strong stakeholder management ability in handling wide ranging and senior stakeholders (across function/segments/product areas)

- Proven ability to perform in dynamic environment with increasing demand for data quality

- Understanding and appreciation of the technical / business considerations involved with digital initiatives would be preferred
