We have been retained by a professionally managed German MNC Conglomerate for the recruitment of Senior Manager-Mechanical for their various upcoming manufacturing plants/unit in various parts of the country in India. Incumbent will be stationed at Navi Mumbai Office at Thane Belapur.

Senior Manager - Mechanical

Project Engineering Management

Objectives of the Position for Mumbai

Main Tasks

1. Support the Engineering Manager/ Project Manager with regard to Mechanical Equipment engineering issues

2. Support /coordinate with other disciplines regarding Mechanical Equipment issues

3. Coordinate, monitor & control all Mechanical Equipment engineering, fabrication and erection/commissioning activities towards Engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, construction companies, etc. working at the individual project

4. Represent the owner interests in the project towards consultants, contractors, vendors, construction companies, etc.

5. Provide technical expertise in mechanical discipline to the project team

6. Establish local know-how and market contacts in the relevant discipline and share with other /new project teams in BASF Asia Pacific and globally

7. Establish and keep close contact to the related engineering discipline at BASF globally e.g. Shanghai / Germany. (good English skills required)

8. Prepare Approved bidders list and obtain budgetary quotes. Prepare Cost Estimates for Mechanical discipline.

9. Prepare Basic Mechanical Data Sheets, Review Vendor Drawing

10. Evaluate Technical Bids from Supplier and prepare Technical Bid evaluations

11. Supervise Cost and Schedule for Mechanical Part in a Project

12. Perform Vendor shop audits and visits

13. Implementation of improvement measures, lessons learned

Minimum Education and qualification required for the Position:

Education:

1. Bachelor degree with major in Engineering (Mechanical)

Working Experience:

1. At least more than 15 years total work experiences

2. At least more than 10 years work experiences in chemical and petrochemical industry with at least 7 years of engineering management experience

3. Experiences in Design Institute and/or Engineering Company industry preferable

4. International experiences will be an advantage

5. Leadership experiences mandatory

6. Work experiences in other industries will be an advantage

7. Work experiences in production process support will be an advantage

Technical & Professional

Knowledge:

Core skills:

1. Proficient command of spoken and written english skills mandatory

2. Leadership and management of a team

3. Skilled in chemical process design/optimization preferable

4. Skilled in cost engineering is preferable

Job Related preferable

Skills:

Skilled in mechanical engineering mandatory, shall have a deep knowledge about fabricated equipment; shall have deep knowledge about rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, etc.) and special units (e.g. Utility packages, etc.)

Should have a deep knowledge about material and design codes (ASTM, ASME, API, IS, TEMA, HTRI, etc.) Skilled in (chemical) plant equipment engineering and execution is mandatory.

4. Negotiation skills preferable
