AVT McC offers tailor made spice ingredients to customers who are quality conscious and consumer safety oriented. Over twenty spices that are processed, sterilized & ready to use in whole, cracked, crushed, milled, blended for uniformity, or custom blended spice mixes is available from AVT McC spice range. The company which is situated in Kochi, Kerala, has a turnover of Rs 320 Crores and employs 290 people.

Job Profile:

1. Principal Accountability

- Responsible for developing and implementing a 3-5 year Strategic Sourcing model that gives the company a leadership position in Spice procurement including evaluation of the company's raw material procurement strategies and processes based on business plan. Responsible for managing a team engaged in the purchase of raw materials and other products and services for the organization. Responsible for developing IT based procurement model that ensures quality, sustainable and cost effective supply chain.

2. Tasks and Responsibilities

a. Develop and implement raw material sourcing strategy. Create a peer review system to evaluate sourcing strategies that utilize negotiation and purchasing techniques ensuring the very best quality, cost, delivery, and service.

b. Manages supplier relations and supply agreement compliance while maintaining highest code of ethics and conduct.

c. Oversee seed-to- fruit process from intent to purchase, new supplier on-boarding, performance, and supplier exit. Tracks supplier performance using dashboards for quality, delivery, service and cost.

d. Achieve departmental objectives by measurement of KPI's. Deliver aggressive year-over year cost down objectives.

e. Responsible for forecasting raw material cost and consumption-aided by Planning.

f. Continuously analyse market and delivery conditions to ensure present and future material availability.

g. Work with Internal Customers like Operations, PPC, Quality, Backward Integration and PD to develop product specifications and source substitute and new materials.

h. Identify and evaluate new/increased sources of supply that support plant expansions, new products, and sustainability objectives.

i. Work with larger procurement team across business units to leverage enterprise wide spending, resources, and champion best practices in a matrix environment.

2. Key Competencies:

I. Functional Competencies

a. Ability to work globally across business units and customers, global supply chains, cultures and time zones.

b. Detailed knowledge of agri commodities including infrastructure, markets, products, commercial, quality, import requirements, regulatory, processing and supply chain and assist in marketing efforts, at times. Called on frequently to provide business support and expertise.

c. A significant amount of work performed on Continuous Improvement (CCI) and efficiency efforts to convert sourced raw materials to Pre-cleaned Commodity (PCC) materials.

d. Ability to confer with others to reach resolution. Ability to explore alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties.

e. Ability to allocate resources, plan procurement, and oversee budgets and contracts to ensure fiscal stability of AVT McCormick

f. Strong analytical ability with knowledge of ERP based Materials Management System

g. Ability to constantly remain on look-out for new, cost-effective and efficient vendors and TPPs to optimize materials cost

h. Strong knowledge of generally accepted purchasing practices, contract negotiation, related laws and regulations.

i. Supplier scorecard techniques that drive vendor management

3. Qualification: Basic Degree in Agriculture / Horticulture or other Plant Science like Botany, Plant Bio-Tech. Full time PGDBM / MBA from a reputed institute.

4. Experience Required:

The ideal candidate is an accomplished leader who has expertise in Procurement of agri commodities for exports into developed markets preferably spices. This person should have a minimum of 12+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience with at least 3 years at the Managerial level.

5. Age: 35 – 40 years

6. Linguistic Skills: English / Malayalam / Tamil / Telugu / Kannada.

7. Compensation: 11 – 14 Lacs. Would not be a constraint for the right candidate.
