Job Description :

The Plant HRBP Specialist will administer or provide human Resource support for a broad range of HR initiatives including compliance programs, talent acquisition, comp/benefits, employee relations, training and change management for all employees based at the plant.

Responsibilities (key activities and decisions for which only this role is accountable)

- With guidance, administers human resources policies and practices at the location including recruiting, staffing, compensation planning, performance measurement and management, communications, employer of choice programs, talent development, retention planning, organizational design and action planning.

- Working closely with management, implements and administers policies and programs to meet human resources requirements supporting short- and long-term business needs.

- Lead in managing the compensation and benefits programs at the location, below the senior management level ensuring fair and equitable administration of organization's philosophy.

- Monitor adherence to all HR policies, practices and procedures. Interpret/communicate policies for the employees at the site

- Provide feedback to Corporate HR on line management needs and provide input into the design of corporate programs and policies, especially pertaining to and impacting workmen at baroda plant.

- Partner and lead relationships with key constituencies e.g. labor, community and government.

- Manage all HR related statutory compliances in the plant.

- Identifies and delivers necessary employee training and orientation programs.

- May participate in collective bargaining negotiations and administers contract provisions at the location, as needed. Proactively works Positive Employee Relations activities.

- Carry out effective safety and other employee relations programs.

- Administers the career management process including recruitment, talent management, staffing strategies, organization design, change management, and succession planning.

- Assists with the administration of the community relations strategy including corporate social responsibility and other volunteer events and attending community functions.

- Participate in and support corporate or regional projects (India or Asia)from time to time

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience : (technical, functional, and/or leadership experience required)

- MBA or equivalent in HR with at 6 - 10 years of relevant experience

- Should have handled the entire range of HR activities viz. Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, development and implementation of policies and processes, management of statutory compliances, etc.

- Should be currently based in a plant. Experience in an MNC is preferred

- Proficiency in - Gujarati- is a must.

- Ability to partner and influence business leaders

- Sound understanding of HR related statutory compliances such as PF, Gratuity, ESI, contract labor management issues, etc.

Competencies: (key functional, leadership, or business competencies required)

- Proven ability to set, define and deliver on performance goals.

- Strong communications skills with proven ability to influence in a matrix environment; proven ability to influence at all levels in the organization

- Effective people and performance management coaching and feedback skills

- Demonstrated ability to drive change and mobilize resources in a complex environment:

- Computer skills essential, MS Office

Some key points to consider:

1. Fluency in local language, i.e. Gujarati

2. Independently managed a plant preferably in an MNC

3. Close interaction with blue collar workmen

4. Sound knowledge of labor laws including management of contract workmen

5. Handled hiring of blue collar workmen and white collar plant personnel

6. Manage annual performance appraisal and salary planning cycles
