Job Description:

ROLE: work closely with management with optimal resource planning and allocation across projects/locations

- SEA staffing:

- Deliver optimized consulting resourcing within a unit.

- Coverage includes the Business Analysts, Senior Business Analysts, Associates and Managers from lead and proposals stage to projects to performance evaluations.

- Practice-area staffing: Support senior consultant resourcing and staffing of core team members for a designated practice area

- Prepare monthly staffing status reports and forecast reports for SEA region

RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Manage staffing information within the SEA unit

- Update all staffing and availability information in the staffing tool (CPSS) so that an updated regional view can be maintained at all times

- Encourage and enforce up-to-date CVs and other information (e.g. Areas of expertise) on the internal portal

- Prepare and - publish- general weekly staffing report, with current status and forecast

2. Identify and assign appropriate consultants to support all billable and non-billable work within SEA unit

- Support pipeline development - put forward consultants to work on proposals, attend leads and proposals

- When assigning consultant to projects, take into account the following criteria: availability, project type, scope and requirements, consultant skills, experience, development needs and preferences, project officer / manager requests and preferences

- Run a weekly staffing decision process within the unit to ensure transparency and timeliness of decisions

3. Work towards achieving and maintaining target capacity utilization for SEA unit

- Investigate deviation from staffing plan, authorize chargeback to projects

- Monitor pipeline and availability, aim to optimize utilization (e.g. actively seek to export when local unit demand is softening, monitor appropriate usage of Associated Consultants)

- Enforce capacity management discipline (e.g. detection of hidden RVs, enforcing rules around Associated Consultants, rules for setting up Probable Job Codes

4. Identify and assign appropriate consultants to support all billable and non-billable work within SEA unit

- Run a weekly staffing decision process within the unit to ensure transparency and timeliness of decisions

5. Maintain an ongoing, updated view of the pipeline and revenue forecast

- Enter and update Leads and Proposal information into the Pipeline/CPSS System

- Prepare the monthly forecast package (working with Finance)

- Attend the monthly forecast call (with Finance, COO, SEA Head)

- Explain variance between actual billings and forecast billings every month

6. Collaborate and liaise with colleagues in HR and recruitment

- Understand who is leaving / joining and when, what is their skill set to better manage the pipeline and integrate new joiners into the project flow

- Communicate to the recruiting what skills, capabilities, expertise are in demand within the unit

7. Actively engage within the APAC staffing team

- Participate in conference calls / meetings

- Support pan-APAC and Global staffing requests (identify resources for projects and assist with identifying projects for available resources)

- Ensure implementation of APAC staffing principles within the unit

8. Support Practice Area staffing requirements

- Ensure competent and smooth resourcing of the Practice assignments across various units and support staffing of the core team members

- Prepare the monthly Practice Pipeline

- Build and maintain credibility and relationships with managers, principals and partners

9. Continuous long term improvements to the function

- Implement Project Barometers

- Participation in regional and global - task forces to review policy, process or system changes

REQUIRED SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

- Attention to detail and data accuracy

- Understanding of how consulting works and the importance of having the right people on the job

- Commercial savvy, understand the needs of the client and the firm, able to understand and judge requirements

- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and present at senior levels

- Strong organization skills and problem-solving skills

- Ability to collaborate & influence across the spectrum ends

- Excellent communication skills with strong command of English. Knowledge of additional language skills of the region ie in Mandarin, Melayu or Bahasa would be added plus

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

- Total work experience of 10-15 years

- Min. 4-5 years of relevant staffing experience in professional, corporate, customer driven consulting MNC firm

- 2-3 years of consulting or career development (e.g. staffing, recruitment, HR) experience is preferred

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

- Efficient utilization of unit consultant resources

- Utilization of junior consultants at / close to target

- High level of compliance to staffing plans

- Effective revenue recovery (i.e. minimal revenue leakage due to missing timesheets or inappropriate reversals)

- Quality and accuracy of Unit forecast

- Consistent tracking and visibility of staffing and availability information

- Ability to demonstrate the 4 ethos in interactions with partners and consultants:

- Transparency and

- Timeliness
