Roles & Responsibilities:
- Independently leading and project managing research oriented projects and developing subject-matter expertise as a customer and competitive intelligence professional
- Build a reputation with direct clients as a solutioner, consultant and recommendations-driven person
- Use analytical tools, frameworks and methods (competitive benchmarking, SWOT, Five Forces, Strategic Competitor Profiling etc.) for generation of insights from available data and information
- Interact with US team to understand their analysis requirements and also throughout the life of the project (kick-off, interim review, final review etc)
- Synthesise data out of multiple data sources to perform analysis about industry/companies/products
- Supervising and quality control, following best practices in project management
- Effectively communicate findings, concerns, ideas, project management elements to multiple stakeholders in an offshore-onshore environment
- Adept at knowledge management
- Competent with managing client relationships
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and post-graduate qualification from top-tier institutions. MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- 5-8 years work experience.
- Meaningful experience in strategic secondary research, value-added knowledge services analysis, insight-building, consulting
- Experience in third-party KPOs, financial services, information technology, management consulting, biotech and healthcare industries is also valued
Skills/Competencies:
- Comfort with various techniques of secondary research such as looking up right sources, understanding source credibility, keyword usage, etc
- Demonstrated above-par analytical ability
- Flair for quantitative/ qualitative data analyses and interprétation
- Ability to process data to draw insights, answering “so what” questions about data
- Able to synthesize large volumes of data into comprehensible and insightful information
- Comfort with unstructured data and niche industries/ products/ services
- Comfort with making intelligent assumptions to estimate not-so-easily available data points
- Comfort with making conclusions based on limited data, as available
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with specific focus on “persuasive, influencing” communication style
- Adept in Word, Excel and PowerPoint with special focus on error-free formatting
- Understanding of known industry analysis tools such as Porters’ Five Forces, SWOT analysis, Competitive Metrics, Quadrant Analyses such as BCG or GE matrix etc;
- Also able to generate coherent and intelligent frameworks to convey own insights
- High level of intellectual curiosity
- Professional attitude on service quality
- Attention to detail, especially in all aspects of report making from research to preparation of presentation and client interaction
- Driven, self-starter, go-getter, solution-oriented
- Would typically be in the top 10% of his/ her organization, performance-wise
