Educational Specialist - Foundational Numeracy, Assessments

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

a. Contribute as key member in the research, design, implementation, administration, evaluation, and revision of foundational numeracy and literacy (FLN) assessments for projects managed by others

b. Create/review/ facilitate high quality foundational numeracy assessment tools for projects

c. Validate translated assessment items in Hindi and revise them to enhance their quality

d. Analysing large-scale student response data to figure out how children think and learn foundational numeracy

e. Support in designing and conducting training and workshops on foundational numeracy assessments, understanding results, and reports, etc.

f. Support field evaluator training/post analysis workshops for projects throughout the country

g. Support/perform data analysis to measure student performance on FLN and unearth learning trends

h. Maintain appropriate documentation for the project

i. Travel to the field to evaluate implementation of FLN assessments with clients and to understand clients' work better

j. Support in team's growth and learning needs

Educational Qualifications:

- Graduate/postgraduate with Mathematics as one of the major subjects

- Strong understanding of education, instruction, assessments

- Experience in creating content and/or assessments for foundational numeracy would be preferred

Experience Required:

- Candidates with experience in fields relevant to assessment design and development, preferable with some experience on foundational numeracy assessments

- Fluent in written and verbal communication in English and Hindi

- Basic data analysis skills, and basic understanding of statistics

3. The ability to learn fast and grasp Educational Initiatives' model and business

4. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical details with individuals from diverse backgrounds

5. The ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently as a self-starter
