Spark Capital - Lead - Equity Research

Preference will be given to experienced candidates in small and mid-cap research houses.

Person Requirements:

- The Lead analyst will recommend promising investment ideas.

- The ideal candidate must be :

(a) Passionate about equity investing

(b) Understand the fundamentals of valuation

(c) Should be capable of evaluating business models

(d) Should possess robust quantitative skill-set complimented by a range of qualitative abilities, enabling them to effectively communicate their research both in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities:

- Brainstorm & formulate new investment ideas.

- Keen analytical skills to evaluate investment proposals across various sectors.

- Strong financial modeling skills and ability to understand & formulate business drivers (revenue, cost, likely disruptors, etc)

- Should have knowledge of Finance & Accounting, Valuation Methodologies and Stock analysis.

- Excellent writing skills with ability to lay out investment arguments and thesis lucidly.

- Should be proficient in MS office, Bloomberg, Ace equity & any relevant data packages.

- Initiating, executing and delivering quality investment research in the identified sector(s).

- Tracking companies under coverage with proper understanding of macro and micro factors impacting them.

- Give stock recommendations based on valuation methodologies like relative valuation, DCF etc.

- Guiding / Preparing other reports like industry analysis, market scenario analysis etc.

- Meet corporates, attend analyst meets and annual general meetings to expand the knowledge horizon.

- Communicate investment ideas to clients (Family offices, UHNIs, Fund Management houses) in the form of research reports, presentation and oral communication.

- Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of ideas to the internal stake-holders & clients.

- Co-ordinate with business development team and other business verticals to share knowledge or assist if needed.
