Responsibilities: - Build a repository of economic data and required data models on such data as would be typically required by a team providing Indian economic outlook targeted at a domestic non-institutional audience. - Create "actionable" and / or "insightful" data and research products on macro and micro economy targeted at treasuries, family offices and Super HNIs. This would include updates on high and medium frequency data and events as also research notes which would specifically spell out Spark PWM view and estimates on key economic indicators. These views and estimates would be used by teams providing equity portfolio and product research at Spark PWM - Drive delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual multi-asset class investment strategy presentations for Spark PWM clients with investment strategy related calls themselves being culled from other suitably qualified colleagues at Spark PWM. Asset classes covered would include Indian equities, Indian debt securities, Gold and Offshore investment opportunities available for Indian LRS-ready clients - Conducting periodic calls and meetings for the internal teams and clients of Spark Group with the intention of keeping them abreast with the latest relevant events, presentations and viewpoints related to Indian economy - Creating events with economists, policy makers and other such persons for Spark Group clients to engage with to draw relevant insights Skills Required Strong research writing and communication skills - Must possess high quality research writing capability. - Must be highly capable of presenting on a public platform, ideally in more than two languages. Gift of the gab is a vital requirement Knowledge Seeker - Hunger and keenness to acquire knowledge beyond field of economics - Capability to build on product and market knowledge from other Spark PWM colleagues' inputs / networks Functional skills - Must already have a high level of understanding on multiple asset classes and portfolio / investment products. - High on analytical and quantitative skills - Be able to work well with different people & groups across various functions within Spark Group. - Highly proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint - A working knowledge of Python would be desirable, though not essential Qualification Economist Under-graduate or Post-graduate from a renowned institution in the faculty of economics with either a CFA or a MBA Industry and Type of experience Currently employed with a lending organization or a rating agencies or sell-side mid-sized institutional equities brokerage or independent research outfits as part of the economics research team Total Experience 8-10 years of work experience as a research publishing economist
