Spandana Sphoorty - Senior Manager - Corporate Communications (5-10 yrs)
Educational Qualifications: Degree in Journalism / Mass Communication (preferred not mandatory)
Skills / Capabilities: Communication verbal and written, Ability to network and Build partnerships, Good personality, Creative bent of mind
Experience (Type/Duration): Overall 7-8 years with at least 5-7 years Corporate Communications experience, Must have handled PR extensively and should have significant contacts in the media industry
Accountability:
Ensures development and application of a consistent and standardized corporate identity
Ensures sufficient, good quality and cost effective coverage of the organization in the print, tv, web media etc. so as to continuously improve the companys public image
Ensures identification of and active participation in relevant event and promotions so as to improve visibility of the company
Ensures creation, upgradation and maintenance of the organization website
Facilitate the development of company literature like brochures / collaterals, success stories, annual reports, internal newsletter, press releases, executive speeches, corporate presentations etc
Key Activities:
Identifies and negotiates with a reliable design and print support vendors for branding activities
Facilitates a common understanding between what senior management and the vendor
Handles job execution of the identified designing and branding vendor
Ensures that internal & external messages are conveyed in a consistent and professional way that reflects our corporate identity
Prepares the annual PR plan or the organization identifying strategies and innovative concepts that could be used
Monitors social, economic, and political trends that could affect the organization and looks for ways to enhance the image based on such trends
Builds good relationships with media (domestic, international), analysts, design agencies and other relevant stakeholders
Monitors industry and PR trends and adopts best practices in a timely manner
Executes corporate identity, message and positioning
Coordinates and executes press analyst tours and important media interface activities like press conferences etc.
Takes care of Media buying activities as and when required
Ensures coverage of key activities, events involving the organization
Identifies and negotiates with reliable event management vendors for promotion and branding activities
Identifies the relevant events where a presence would benefit the organization
Works on own and/or with the vendor to identify the best channels of being involved in such events
Ensures execution of the identified methodology
Identifies and negotiates with reliable Web development vendors
Provides inputs and ensures a clear understanding of what the website would represent and look like to senior management
Facilitates a common understanding between what senior management and the vendor
Ensures that the website is delivered on time and in a cost effective manner
Regularly works with the vendor/internal team to ensure that the website is updated with latest happenings and it reflects reality in terms of organization facts and figures
Identifies purpose of developing the material and creates relevant formats for the same
Coordinates with various departments to facilitate the development of relevant material
Ensures senior management approval before any material reaches the external world
Sends an update on media coverage for the organization to employees through email
