Solar Up - Head - Finance & Accounts (5-8 yrs)
The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the company's finance & accounting function and develop and deploy corporate financial policy in line with the strategy of the organization.
Provide strategic direction and insights to organization as a member of the top management team
- Provide objective and analytical insights on financial impact and soundness of business decisions to the top management
- Provide active support in developing organizational strategies by contributing financial & accounting information, analysis, recommendations
- Part of strategy formulation team to drive short, medium and long term business strategy
- Establish finance and accounts function objectives in line with organizational priorities
Provide valuable inputs in the budget planning activity and prepare apportionment guidelines for the organization
- Oversee the framework and preparation of annual business plans and budgets, prepared by the corporate planning team
- Prepare apportionment guidelines and revise them as and when required in coordination with Head Corporate Planning and Budgeting
- Communicate financial targets for business plan/rolling estimates to key stakeholders in the organisation
- Oversee preparation of trend analyses/ reports on financial results, costs, revenues, cost income ratio to give clarity on the financial health of the business to top management and Board of Directors
- Advise department heads on variance analysis and corrective mechanisms
Ensure efficient & effective management of the company's finances through all necessary financial controls, systems, and processes
- Establish and review mechanism and internal procedures for ensuring accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records
- Monitor the overall cash flow responsibilities ensuring timely availability of funds by obtaining necessary approvals
- Oversee financial and accounting system controls and standards and ensures timely financial and variance reports
- Ensure appropriate financial control mechanisms to minimise business risk
- Ensure all legal and statutory compliances of all processes & accounting practices
- Develop and establish tax strategies and projects designed to minimize the organizations tax cost in consultation with business and the tax advisors
- Oversee insurance related responsibilities
Define the fiscal policies for the organization in a way that it complies with all statutory regulations
- Oversee internal audit function
- Approve the audit calendar and plan prepared by Head Audit
- Support Head Audit in conducting an audit to ensure adherence to the laid down procedures and ensure accuracy
- Guide Head Audit in managing relationships with external auditors
- Approve all the CAPEX related decisions
- Create an authorization matrix for the organization
- Provide assistance on the commercial negotiations for large-scale contracts that the company would get into
- Select auditing agencies and establish SLAs as and when required
- Perform the role of a people manager for the department
- Manage and support recruitment, set KRA's for direct reports, monitor overall department KRA's, conduct performance appraisal
- Oversee staff deployment and drive motivation levels of the team, monitor staff welfare and facilitate complaint resolution, manage efficiency levels and drive timely delivery of all operational targets

Qualifications and Technical Skills
A combination of 2 of the 3 qualifications is preferred:-
- MBA Finance or CA and CS
- Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and financial policies, procedures and systems
Overall and Specific Experience
- 5-8 years of experience of working for medium-to-large sized organizations
- Must have worked closely with CEO/ top management team
