The ideal candidate should have 15+ years’ relevant software and product quality assurance experience and proven track record as QA architect in a reputed world class product R&D team delivering enterprise software.

Responsibilities:

- Technical voice of the product assurance group with internal and external stakeholders

- Provide technical insights based on product quality considerations to product management / field in developing the product vision and roadmap

- Work directly with product architects and product engineering to build testability into products at inception

- Own the overall test architecture, tools and technologies selection for the product QA

- Communicate the product assurance vision, overall QA architecture and engineering considerations to the team

- Drive Proof-of-concept (POC) projects, may engineer POCs and major test components in the system

- Review and provide guidance on the product QA specifications and test designs for test architectural consistency

- Review the work of teams in troubleshooting complex product assurance problems and guide them towards effective resolutions

- Provide guidance to the leadership on product assurance risks and issues on deliveries and problem resolutions

- Share architectural best practices with the other product assurance teams in the organization

- Expand as technical leader in the division by acquiring breadth

- Champion for innovation within the product assurance group

- Guide and mentor technical leaders in the product assurance group

- Provide technical assessment during technical leads selection and talent reviews in the product assurance group

Qualifications/Necessary Skills:

- Proven ability to evangelize product quality vision and drive consensus around the test strategy and the associated tools and technologies

- Proven ability to contribute to product quality assurance for market-leading high-tech products

- Must have a strong background in software product quality assurance of Web-based applications, browser and mobile UI and services oriented application interfaces

- Thorough knowledge of contemporary test automation tools and methodologies

- Thorough understanding of customer-centric testing methodologies and development of test strategies that utilize support metrics such as product hot spots, field-based feedback and customer-specific use cases

- Applies cutting edge principles, theories, concepts, and technologies

- Hands on experience with some of product functional quality engineering, integration and system testing, upgrades and migration testing, performance and scalability assurance, product certifications on various vendor environments and regression testing

- Ability to identify and communicate areas of opportunity to develop new tests, enhance current tests and eliminate redundant tests while ensuring focus on product quality

- Development and use of quality metrics for product assurance

- Demonstrated ability to drive cross functional dependencies to successful completion

- Savvy in optimally utilizing the test infrastructure

- Looked upon as a role model for the junior software QA engineers wanting to pursue a career in technical ladder in software product quality assurance

- Should have familiarity with Agile development and test practices

- Good interpersonal skills

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education:

- Engineering degree in comp science or equivalent from a reputed institution

- MBA

Desirable:

- Has the understanding of the business environment and requirements for enterprise content management applications

- Well versed with the development and sustenance of enterprise software products

- Has patents/disclosures and well versed with the patenting process; has papers/publications in reputed conferences/technical journals

- Recognized as an expert in the field both internally and externally
