The Software Engineering Leader will be responsible for providing the required technical leadership on developing company's core content driven and consumer facing software products critical to business growth. Target candidate should be a highly motivated, result-oriented Engineering Leader who would be responsible to lead the engineering capability

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own portfolio of digital products and having experience of building and managing development teams delivering high quality enterprise ready software.

- Contributes to the strategic vision and integrates a broad range of ideas regarding applications and software development.

- Provide architectural oversite & direction for core software products, including in the following areas: micro-service design, integration design, application/solution architecture, cloud/network gateway, data architecture, performance monitoring & design, and systems engineering.

- Articulates design and resolves technical/design conflicts as they occur.

- Experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA).

- Review architectural designs to ensure they comply with industry standards (TOGAF, or similar) and will provide a system design that will satisfy user requirements and lead to sustainable systems/low maintenance.

- Develops & implements design & architectural best practices for the digital programs

- Lead resolution of technical issues, to ensure architecture integrity is maintained. Participate in program steering committee meetings & executive meetings.

- To develop scalable, flexible, efficient and supportable solutions using appropriate technologies such as

a) open source technologies like Java, PHP and Ruby On Rails and Front-end technologies/JS frameworks like jQuery, Angular JS, Backbone JS, etc.

b) Microsoft technologies like .Net, SQL Server, ASP.Net. or

c) Exposure to mobile technologies like Native & Hybrid will be a plus

d) Digital platforms and Content Management Systems will be a plus

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

An engineering graduate with 10 to 16 yrs experience.

- Demonstrated ability to hire, build and manage high performance teams

- Total Experience of 10+ years with exposure to digital technologies.

- Deep hands-on technical expertise with a strong technical vision with-An in-depth understanding of programming concepts, OO methodologies, design patterns

- Exceptional understanding of scalability and modularity

- Experience in architecting, developing and maintaining massively scalable systems

- Experience with development methodologies, content management systems and source control systems, continuous Integration etc.

- Ability to interface across all levels of the organization and work with multiple stakeholders.

- Strong understanding of the software development cycle

- Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem-solving skills

- Willingness to dive into software environments and technical issues

- Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices.

- Experience of building or working with a product / ecommerce start-up
