We are seeking a self-directed, business savvy, growth-oriented and respected Software Development Manager who will start up a team and be responsible for driving the strategy, product roadmap, software development and operations of our customer-facing Trade-In services. Our business is a growth engine for Employer’s categories, and in this position you will provide both strategic and tactical oversight to build the features and functionality for a best in class offering for our customers.

The Employer’s Trade-In team owns all of the software and infrastructure which powers these fast-growing and high profile businesses and is growing at about 80% year-on-year. In the service of our customers, we are inventing and innovating in the areas of operations, machine learning, and mobile technology.

- As a technical leader, you will be a pragmatic visionary that can translate business needs into technology solutions that scale both technically and operationally. You are responsible for driving quality and enabling technical innovation. You will recruit top talent, manage evolving / complex demands, including multiple projects with dependencies on internal organizations. You will draw on customer feedback, usage and operational data, and your experience leading technology businesses to set and deliver on goals for adoption, operational performance, feature delivery, and revenue. As leader of a global team, you will also have departmental responsibilities for establishing subject matter expertise in technology, building best practices for intellectual property protection, technical architecture, hardware efficiency, operational excellence, performance evaluation and resource allocation.

- MBA degree or higher

- Have a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive

- Be a strong leader, mentor, recruiter and people manager

- Have experience building and running distributed systems for online services at scale

- Has 8-14 years of experience in software development and 6+ years as a development manager

- Gain credibility with engineers quickly
