Lead - First line of Defense will be responsible to manage and lead teams delivering 1st level of control testing activities including but not limited to Ops risk, Market risk, Credit risk, Compliance risk and Reputational risk. The role would have accountability for overall performance of the entire Controls testing process, stakeholder engagement, productivity, seamless service delivery, quality and effective people engagement and would be measured on the overall effectiveness of the process. Controls Testing : - Evaluation and Interpretation of risk types, methodologies, and frameworks for testing controls and assessing results, conducting research, and identification of control deficiencies. - Drafting and executing control evaluation test scripts to assess the design and Operating effectiveness of internal controls. - Implementation of consistent control evaluation methodologies to support the target state. - Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and internal controls; along with analyzing business and/or systems changes to determine impact. - Recommended control enhancement opportunities to address root cause of error - Provide quality and consistency evaluation of control testing activities to ensure sustainable delivery and standardization of process Governance &amp; Reporting : - Track Controls testing status to the plan and report any variance via management reporting - Document testing results, conduct calibration on testing results with applicable control owners for validation, evaluate criticality of results based on established risk tolerance thresholds, coordinate root cause analysis on testing results, aggregate testing results inclusive of error categorization and trending, document agreed upon remediation efforts and actions in accordance with Issue Management guidance, and create and distribute testing cycle reporting - Assist with internal and external audit requests and respond to follow up questions timely Leadership and People management : - Define talent/skill needs and resource requirement keeping in mind process evolution and emerging technologies - Provide clear definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals, and performance objectives for the team - Provide regular, constructive feedback to maximize positive impact of individual team member's talent - Contribute to hiring and talent management strategy and policies for GDC - Support cross-training and resource rotation to ensure that there is enough breadth and depth of talent caliber/ potential across the organization to provide enough bench strength for key roles, and to sustain and build organizational capability over time Stakeholder management : - Accountable for effective communication of issues across the GDC and working groups - Manage onshore stakeholders, providing periodic updates and contribute to periodic communications like Debrief, Dashboards, KPIs etc. - Create an environment of transparency and collaboration in testing design, results calibration, and trend reporting - Work closely with : a. HR in Staffing, people initiatives and attrition management b. Transformation team on Process Improvement Initiatives and ensuring seamless migration c. Technology team on automation / digitization initiatives for the process Operational Excellence : - Act as strategic contributor for SVB, suggesting continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging industry best practices - Improve operational efficiency by exploring new ways of working through process improvements - Innovate ways to automate process by rolling out quality initiatives - Actively seek and identify areas to increase scope of work, by identifying areas of synergies and existing competencies. Collaborate with onshore and GDC teams to drive migration - Promote culture of innovation in team seeking ideas for process improvements from team members. Quantify and evaluate the feasibility of ideas given by team members
