Director Credit Services GDC

Director of Credit Services will be responsible for the growth and management of Credit Services function in the Bangalore GDC that support the bank's growing loan portfolio. They will manage and drive delivery of portfolio management deliverables including but not limited to client financial data management, portfolio review intelligence, covenant calculations, borrowing base calculations, and compliance reporting for global lending teams. They will work very closely with the Head of Credit Services and Credit colleagues in the US to drive innovation and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives. They will support the growth of the GDC and promote a strong culture as established by the U.S. and India Credit leadership team. To support these efforts, an experienced individual is needed to build and manage the Credit Services team in SVB's Bangalore GDC. The person in this role must possess superior relationship development, solid communication, leadership, and critical decision making skills. Overall, the right candidate is accretive to Silicon Valley Bank's culture. They will report to the Credit Head at the GDC.

This Director level role requires strong, direct leadership with team members, and through team managers that report into this role. The Director will work closely with the Head of Credit Services within the GDC as well as credit colleagues globally to build a team that develops efficient/accurate processes, procedures, and controls for sound execution in managing client financial data and credit compliance. This leader will have the proven ability to act quickly to resolve any complex, moderate or non-routine issues related to credit services and team management. They will also ensure that internal team goals align with the overall organizational goals (including LOB expectations). General operations functions may include, but are not limited to:

Credit Services Development & Growth :

- Assist the Head of Credit Services GDC to help set the mission and vision of the GDC Credit Services team in alignment with the overall strategic and operational objectives of the organization

- Ensure accurate client financial data review and calculations are completed on time for global lending teams and assist colleagues (lending teams) with problem-solving across LOBs

- Strengthen relationships with global stakeholders and leadership

- Ensure that a best-in-class control environment exists internally within the team

- Ensure team members understand the bank's lending products and practices

Issue Mitigation & Resolution :

- Maintain the integrity of internal systems supporting credit processes (e.g., Moody's CreditLens, nCino, Credit Compliance Portal, portfolio review data publication etc.)

- Work with internal team members and other business teams to resolve operational issues, as identified as quickly as possible

- Act with integrity while overseeing the management of risks that impact the GDC team and overall business and operations

- Overall, monitor and ensure all the credit related controls are appropriately enforced and addressed as per the regulatory and credit risk policies

Quality & Compliance :

- Ensure high level of quality and accuracy of services and adhere to all KPIs and turn-around time for the respective LOBs

- Enforce utilization of SVB tools and systems to support portfolio management including Moody's CreditLens spreading software, nCino loan underwriting platform, and CA Portal, among others

- Conduct governance meetings with US counterparts from various LOBs on timely basis

- Provide timely and accurate feedback to team managers

- Ensure planning and execution of initiatives related to operational excellence

- Identify and drive opportunities on business enablement and adoption of emerging technology-based products and capabilities in partnership with the cross-functional business teams

- Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders, collaborate effectively to resolve disputes; proactively identify, analyze and champion continuous improvement efforts

Play an active role in sourcing and hiring of new team members
