Head HR - Job Summary:

We are looking for a Head HR who is a culture carrier and a change agent who is commercially astute, analytical and technologically savvy. The HR Head should come with broad business acumen/perspectives and a strategic mindset as a business leader. The key charge for the CHRO functionally is to turn talent management into an instrument of business transformation that advances strategy, develops agile leaders, and coalesces in culture. The Head HR needs to embrace a culture where innovation and ideation take centre stage instead of just protocol-based approach to HR as a function.

The Head HR is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational performance management, training and development, and compensation. The Head HR provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team and the CEO.

A strong influencer, you will listen to understand, be on hand to coach, advise, business partner and challenge the status quo as necessary. Champion and drive employee engagement, ensuring that people managers at all levels understand motivational drivers in their teams and are skilled and able people managers. Driving a collaborative approach to internal communication which reflects a modern, consistent and engaging approach to embedding the values and culture throughout the organisation.

Department Mission

- Through strategic partnerships and collaboration, the people department recruits, develops and retains a high performing and diverse workforce and fosters a healthy, safe, and productive work environment for people in the organization, their families and departments, in order to maximize individual and organizational potential and position the company as an employer of choice.

Authority

- Setting up HR procedures and processes including HRM, HRD, TA and GA,

- Department budget Management,

- Oversee HR policies and standards,

- Liaise between people, top management and organizational goals,

- Advocating people, values and custodian of the overall culture,

- Initiating people-oriented programs to facilitate a learning environment

Responsibility

- To be a culture catalyst by creating and driving a culture that is aligned with the business strategy

- Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally.

- People operations: own all people operations processes including performance review cycles; compensation reviews and planning; benefits administration; legal and regulatory compliance as it relates to employment, etc., and as we scale to ensure that we evolve our processes appropriately.

- Employee development and retention: develop and execute all learning and development initiatives and help drive a high-performance, high-growth mindset that focuses on career development and growth.

- Recruiting and talent acquisition: leading a team of talent acquisition specialists/manager, run our recruiting and talent acquisition activities including defining and implementing strategies to attract, hire, and retain top talent across the company with a focus on building a diverse and inclusive team.

- Cultural champion: be a champion of our culture, helping the team understand and live our core values through effective programs that promote morale while achieving our company goals.

- Trusted advisor: be the trusted advisor to the CEO and HODs, holding all managers to a high-quality standard.

A typical week:

- Working closely with the CEO to set the culture and build initiatives that will help turn strategy into on ground execution through an engaged team

- Designing human resources practices and regulations, as well as present any proposals for organization changes to senior management and oversee implementation.

- Managing the day-to-day operations of the human resources department.

- Overseeing and ensuring rewards programs are comprehensive, competitive, and align with business goals.

- Developing and improving recruiting practices and succession planning strategies.

- Accounting for and maintain human resources disciplines such as compensation, benefits, training, talent acquisition, and diversity.

- Communicating frequently with departmental and executive stakeholders to understand the unique needs of our workforce.

General requirements

- Overall experience 12-15 years in core HR

- Previous work experience as a VP of HR or similar head of HR function,

- 3+ experience in similar role, preferably start-ups,

- Experience in strategic planning,

- In-depth knowledge of all HR functions,

- Proven record of leading for diversity, equity, and inclusion,

- A data-driven leadership who can connect workforce and business outcomes,

- Technology-driven thinking and mindset,

- Excellent leadership abilities, crisis management and calmness under pressure attitude,

- Communication and problem-solving skills.
