SL Resource Deployment Consultant

Overview

The Service Line (SL) Resource Deployment Consultant is a key member of the SL Resource Deployment team and wider UK&I Resource Deployment network. The role encompasses the following:

- Ensure optimal SSL demand and supply management for resource deployment within a SL

- Use knowledge of clients and their capability requirements combined with an understanding of skills and career aspirations of individuals to make resourcing decisions

- Manage the bench/capacity and identify creative opportunities to optimize utilization, CHPP, margin and revenue for the SSL/SL

- Act as the first point of contact for resourcing conflicts and issues, escalating to the Resource Deployment Manager as per protocols

Reporting line to the Resource Deployment Manager

The role works as part of a wider SL Resource Deployment team and coordinates the resource management service of circa 100 to 300 client serving people within a SSL team. They will be seen as the first point of contact and go to person for all resource deployment matters for that SSL on a day to day basis.

The role supports the Resource Deployment Manager who has a dotted reporting line into the SSL Leadership on all their SSL resource deployment and performance matters.

Primary contacts will be SSL Engagement Managers and Partners on day to day resourcing. They will escalate any SSL issues and concerns to their Resource Deployment Manager but are expected to resolve issues themselves in the majority.

Responsibilities

Drive and manage resourcing performance

- Analyses and takes actions on SSL resourcing performance to Resource Deployment Manager

- Drives Retain v. Actual variance interventions as identified from CoE analytics

- Weekly review of prior week performance using CoE analytics

- Share SSL business performance and discuss trends, interventions and actions to improve results with your SL Resource Deployment Manager to inform Strategic Resource Lead and SL Leadership

- Track productivity targets with SSL teams to drive performance

- Champion Retain accuracy and delegation to GDS

- Oversight of non-chargeable activity e.g. holiday approval

- Action non-chargeable and authorized projects insights and highlighting areas of concern to SSL Leadership

Manage demand and supply

- Ensure optimal demand and supply management for resource deployment within a SSL

- Dealing with clashes

- Manage shortages and complexities from demand requests

- Source wider resourcing solutions to address fungible shortages and capacity

- Manage day to day resourcing escalations and issues

- Challenge the commercial drivers of the resourcing decisions

- Understand the bench/capacity and align appropriate actions

- Influencing offshoring resource solutions to engagement teams

- Implement supply initiatives

- Regular review of resource allocation

- Ensuring client teams are backfilled when faced with a leaver or move

- Regular stakeholder engagement

- Understand skills landscape and escalate skill shortages/excess to Resource Deployment Manager

- Inform Resource Deployment Manager of hot spots impacting short-term over or under supply of resources and execute actions to address within your area

- Understanding SSL pipeline and reflecting probability

- Work with Resource Deployment Manager/Lead on key accounts to understand future resourcing

Deliver Experience Management

- Understand client handler skills and career aspirations

- Maintain skills database

- Applying a D&I lens on all resourcing decisions

- Attending or receiving input of review panels and use to drive the right experiences for client facing team

- Ensuring underperformers are given access to appropriate experiences

- Ensuring new joiners are allocated onto chargeable work

- Manage the rotation of resourcing e.g. SL rotation schemes

- Provide a Resource Management induction to all technical new joiners

Create an Exceptional Team

- Participate in Resource Management team meetings, LEAD requirements and training to develop the function

- Participate in UK&I Resourcing team projects

- Buddy for new joiners

Relationships

- Work with SSL Engagement Managers and Partners on all resource deployment needs

- Build relationships across SLs and regions to enable optimal resource allocation

- Work with the Resource Deployment team to drive actions to improve the resource deployment and productivity of our client serving staff including leveraging our CoE and GDS Central Retain teams
