Senior Vice President - Operations - Investment Management Firm (17-30 yrs) Premium

High Level Job Description:

- The successful candidate will join India Investment Operation as a SVP and will be responsible for managing and running entire Investment operations from India office. He will be closely working with India Head, Stake Holders and Client Service Managers based in US and Operation teams.

- He will be responsible for bringing efficiency in operational processes, identifying control gaps, change management, automation, transitions & migration - in areas like Trade Operations / Asset Servicing / Reconciliations/ Securities Master /Reference Data and Pricing / Valuations, etc. The prospective candidate will work with internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders including Venders, brokers and custodians.

Essential Role Functions Requirements

- Should have experience of managing large operation team size of 150-200 people.

- Demonstrated leadership experience that should include people, performance and stakeholder management.

- Manage executive reporting to the management, stakeholder and partners.

- People's manager - manage people and performance ensuring a healthy/ethical work culture, motivate team to go over and beyond in their deliverables.

- Experience in working with global teams specifically managing/interacting with US stakeholders.

- Ability to present and influence solution to senior management.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, written skills and strong, broad-based communications skills - ability to discuss a range of topics with a variety of business managers from operations through executive and build strong working relationships.

- Business domain knowledge on Investment operation, Portfolio accounting, Reference Data Mgt. etc.

- Sound knowledge of middle and back office work in typical asset management firm.

- Knowledge of asset management and accounting platform e.g. EDM, Eagle, Geneva would be an added advantage.

- Experience in Bloomberg/ Reuters, IDC etc.

- Knowledge of funds Performance, Attribution would be an advantage.

Risk & Control :

- Interact with different stakeholders, Operations and Technology Team to resolve process issues and play key role in adding process controls and efficiencies

- Maintain high hygiene standards in the team and ensure team follows all process controls with no lapses.

- Ability to comprehend the upstream and downstream impact of any Data activity, along with the Risk and controls associated to the same.

- Have a better understanding of all the Risk and Controls and should be able to lead the Risk and Control self-assessment for the process.

Process Improvements and Change Management :

- Have a proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to bring the issues to the closure.

- Identify process improvement opportunities and record the hard or soft saves.

- Developing of individual scorecards and provide monthly feed backs to improve performance.

- Actively participate and manage global & local initiatives.

- Identify & escalate issues, exceptions, procedure gaps to supervisor in a timely manner

- Responsible for MIS reporting in a timely manner, Data Analysis & preparing Business Reviews on a regular basis.

- Active participation in technology calls by giving ideas for enhancing the business rules.

- Ability to suggest quick manual work around solutions for meeting the immediate front office/middle business requirements till such time the technology solution comes in Place.

Metrics and Stakeholder Management

- Timely reporting of process metrics and constantly increases the targets to achieve efficiency.

- Ability to form strong relationships and partnerships

- Maintain over 99.5% internal and 100% external accuracy at team level on a consistent basis.

- Interact with different stakeholders, Operations and Technology Team to resolve process issues and play key role in adding process controls and efficiencies

- Achieve daily production targets on a consistent basis and turnaround Priority reviews within the stipulated timelines.

- Partnering with various Teams, Departments and stakeholders through Meetings, calls and review sessions for business rules enhancements.

Training & Development :

- Facilitate training and development for team members and peers.

- Learning the process and exception scenarios in a crashed timeframe.

- Should have good Grasping power, able to learn faster and conduct training sessions of all the learnings to the new joiners.

Communication :

- Listens openly to feedback from managers and colleagues and uses information to improve Personal performance and work practices.

- Articulates ideas and issues in clear concise language.

- Shares information openly and communicates effectively with team members and with other teams.

- Listens well, incorporating others- feedback and ideas, and responds appropriately.

- Fosters open honest communication with management and with staff.

- Good verbal and written communication

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce preferred

- Master's degree in finance

Experience :

- 16+ years of experience in Investment Banking or financial markets industry

- Minimum 5 year as VP or equaling position.
