Senior Vice President/Director/Chief Architect - Platform Architecture

The Position :

Overview and Primary Responsibilities (but are not limited to) :

- Creation and maintenance of Architectural patterns and Software design patterns.

- Guide transition from legacy to modern design patterns using domain-driven design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and service mesh.

- Consult on refactor/replace/remove decisions for legacy applications.

- Articulate non-functional requirements for cloud infrastructure, and evaluate approaches to meeting those requirements.

- Identify opportunities to incorporate automation, self-service tooling, and DevOps philosophy to improve developer productivity and operational excellence in a polyglot environment across a wide range of current and legacy technologies and operating agreements.

- Extensive background in Modern Application development Architecture, Design, including but not limited to Microservices, Utility Services, APIs etc.

- Contribute to the architectural vision and leadership through applications architecture planning, development, and oversight.

- Consult in design of complex enterprise initiatives, and provide guidance to project teams and line of business solution architecture teams.

- Research and maintain knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business.

- Viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines.

- Act as the subject matter expert for a portfolio of applications and serve as the system architecture authority within that scope

- Review and approve design decisions prior to implementation; responsible for the issuance of enterprise architecture patterns.

- Oversee the architecture of cross-functional, multi-platform systems.

- Document system architecture and define application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools.

- Decompose complex application architectures and identify performance bottlenecks and risks.

- Proactively identify and implement strategies to improve reliability, leveraging automation wherever possible.

- Research and evaluate new technologies, with ability to conduct hands-on PoC and PoT.

- Knowledge of cloud native and Kubernetes architectures, strong plus.

- Prior exposure to AWS and/or Azure cloud services, strong plus.

Required Qualifications :

- MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, other computer related field or equivalent work experience.

- Senior Leadership experience in solution architecture design and development.

- Composite experience of 16-18+ years with 12+ years of experience in the following: technology development, application development, and implementation, 7+ years of management experience, in development and implementation.

- Solid understanding of foundational architectural concepts and architecture frameworks and tools, defining and implementing enterprise application and integration architecture.

- Must demonstrate understanding of enterprise integration across hybrid processing environments.

- Solid understanding of systems, networking, and data.

- Understanding of agile methods and processes.

- Hands on experience to prototype technical solutions and manage POCs.

- Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly.

- Passionate about work, curious, and willing to take on difficult challenges.
