PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Capital Markets Operations team provides back-office support to our Foreign Exchange Trading Desk and Securities Lending Trading Desks globally.

- The candidate will have overall responsibility/accountability for client delivery (BAU), migrations, driving automation/productivity/efficiency and people/career development programs. The Candidate will also be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee engagement, teamwork, collaboration, and communication.

- Demonstrates an understanding of regulations as well as the business impact in each jurisdiction and monitors effective implementation.

- Oversees plans and directs the activities for the Unit, ensuring that the business objectives are being met within a country. Assure appropriate senior management oversight and governance of BAU activities.

- Responsible for the development and enforcement of controls within the operations of the unit to deliver a near to flawless standard of service

- Participates in developing business unit, local and regional strategic initiatives and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met

- Understand systems, provide feedback for improvement, engage in upgrades/enhancements

- Accountable for ensuring that adequate operations controls are implemented, risks are mitigated and processes are compliant with regulatory requirements

- Responsible for leadership of a practice/department within a business unit, responsible for client delivery activities through the cultivation of relationships with global practice executives and stakeholders.

- Makes staffing decisions, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities. Builds a diverse team through recruiting, hiring and succession planning.

- Conducts the performance management process including salary reviews, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the division/unit. Supports individual career aspirations with lateral movement to new roles or growth and tenure in current roles.

- Assumes accountability for liaising cross-function to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.

- Maintains strong relationships with all Operations teams and multiple business stakeholders to meet & exceed expectations of the client

- Strong technical & people manager with leadership qualities to think and act strategically

- Be an effective manager within the unit and with other units by imparting knowledge as appropriate

- Focus on leading and developing people through continuous mentoring / coaching

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS :

- Demonstrated experience in managing and providing thought leadership of an operational department with at least 18-22 years of experience.

- Knowledge of Capital Markets operations and corporate business strategies are required to drive measurable business outcomes that enable achievement of financial goals.

- In-depth functional / industry knowledge is required. End to end understanding of FX markets and execution.

- In-depth knowledge of Dodd-Frank and other relevant regulatory obligations.

- Leadership and organizational skills are required to direct activities for multiple units.

- Candidates must be highly flexible and adaptable to change.

- A University degree and relevant work experience in the Capital Markets operations.

- Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills are required to develop periodic goals, and manage and motivate team members towards the established goals

- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) to interact and manage expectations with stakeholders and management
